Always has a great breakfast but I really love the burger. Super affordable either by itself or deluxe with fries and cole slaw. Wish I took a picture of the menu to show the price. Plus it’s only two dollars to add bacon to your burger if you want. basically paid $20 (with tax and tip) for a double bacon cheeseburger deluxe with a Diet Pepsi. The food is a little on the bland side which was saddening because we liked the atmosphere and service we had. The waitresses were super attentive to their customers with a certain charisma that seems lost to some people. Super friendly staff, always look forward to good conversation. They are also awesome with kids. All the children's meals come with dessert! The waitress was absolutely wonderful. She did not bother you while you were eating. It seemed like she was in your head when you needed something she was absolutely amazing. The place was clean. We are new to the city and decided to order in after a busy week unpacking. We found Elm Diner on Uber Eats and gave it a try. The price was affordable and food was quickly prepared, when you have kids waiting for food you know that’s a plus 😄They did not disappoint in taste. Nice dinner with a big menu, which gives many options. The staff was great, very friendly, and quick. The food portions were big and you definitely get your money's worth here. I got the fajita omelette mine without mushroom but put jalapeno and tomato in, and friend also order fitness quesadilla. The food quality is changing from what I remember from this location. When I order the carrot cake, lately, it tastes mushy and old. The home fries and eggs are still the best bet with the toast. Our waitress was very sweet & attentive but the food was subpar and the tables, chairs etc were worn and run down, one of our booth chairs was even duct taped. I order a philly panini & it wasnt on any kind of bread used for a panini...it was on some random thick roll and barely pressed/grilled. The steak had NO seasoning, very bland. There was minimal meat in it either. I tried to eat it and not waste $15 but couldn't do it. I doubt I'd be returning. Great Conneticut Diner! Good food - very friendly staff! They have a Greek Baker who comes three days a week to create his magic with the desserts. No small servings here - try the Chocolate Mousse Cake and the Lemon Mousse Cake! You will take a piece with you! Light as a feather! Who is this Pastry Chef? KUDOS!
