On our travels to Detroit, we stopped in at The Dynasty Restaurant for the first time and I could not believe how well received we were!! The atmosphere was clean & very comfortable and the food was absolutely AWESOME!!! Traditional flavors from China that brought me back again & again!! The Orange beef, Szechuan Chicken, Empire Duck were among my favorites but, the lobster was out of this world!! So tasty and huge portions!! Many vegetable dishes to choose as well!! The staff was very accommodating, good service and the owner is super to talk with even though she's busy, Gina made it a point to chat with us!! If you are looking to have some traditional & delicious Chinese cuisine, then I highly recommend The Empire Dynasty in Farmington Hills. I've never had better... First of all, it’s undeniable the food was good. In terms of food, this place is qualified for at least 4 stars. However, dining in a restaurant isn’t all about the the food. The quality of service also matters. During peak hours, it was OK for us to wait for 15 minutes to be seated and we totally understood that. However, after we had been sitting there for over 20 minutes, nobody came to take the orders from us and we had to ask someone to help us. They had excuse but it was kind of lame. It was clear that they just forgot about us because they were busy. Also, no silverware or plates were provided until the food was served after another 20 - 25 minutes. No one ever came to us and asked us if we needed a refill. If they improve their service, this restaurant will get a much better review. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50

Soggy, dry rice, sauces lacking flavor. Order sweet and sour chicken, general Taos and sesame chicken. Entire family was disappointed with the low grade food. I would not recommend this place or be returning. Food: 1 Service: 2 Recommended dishes Kung Pao Chicken

It was my first time trying the restaurant. The inside was well lit and clean. It had some Chinese decorations. Service was quick. The waiter was friendly and quick in taking orders and serving food. The food was delicious. My favorite was the Mapo tofu, beef cumin and shredded pork. The price was okay with the average size of food. Great and authentic Chinese food. You can customize a bit on the spiciness level if you want. We visited here twice within 5 days. Each entree only comes with one small bowl of rice. We came across this place by accident and decided to stop in. We are glad we did! They had a few dishes on the menu that my friend remembered from growing up in China and Malaysia so we ordered a bunch of stuff. The server had to practically pry the menu from his hands lol. We got hunan shrimp, braised pork, grilled lamb with cumin, green onion pancakes, and pea pod leaves. Everything was fantastic! I definitely will be back and I highly recommend this place! I passed through Detroit, Michigan from Ohio, and tasted authentic Chinese-style Hunan and Sichuan cuisine at Lizhan Restaurant. It is very delicious and unique, and it is worth recommending to all diners, such as Yipin Guojiang Fish, Spicy Chicken, Yangzhou Dry Shredded, Waiting for all kinds of delicacies, everyone is welcome to come and sit often when you are free.

The food here used to be acceptable but now the quality has dropped significantly. I urge you to look elsewhere for Chinese food. Nevertheless, my biggest complaint is with the shady business practices and the extremely rude staff. We received the bill with the restaurant already including a purported 20% tip. We asked nicely if they can please remove this and hand us a new bill, as it was our intention to tip in cash; moreover, the included tip on the original bill was miscalculated as it determined the tip amount from the sum of the food cost and the tax. We were told by the staff, in a manner that was attempting to be intimidating, that our request could not be accommodated, as their computer system automatically adds the tip and they are incapable of producing a proper bill. Not wanting to cause a scene in their restaurant, we begrudgingly handed over our credit card to the staff. After processing payment, they, incredibly, handed us a receipt with a final amount that was 25 cents higher than previously quoted as they, without consent, increased the tip. We find this ridiculous and hence will be disputing the bill with our credit card company. One more thing I would like to mention is how this establishment handles their pricing of hot tea. Two people in our party of eight ordered tea. We received exactly one pot of tea with a single tea bag and along with it eight tea cups and were charged on the final bill for eight units of tea - even though we only had ever received a single low quality tea bag and hot water. During the aforementioned payment disagreement the staff also refused to fix this blatant overcharging. We previously held this restaurant in high regard and even recommended it to our friends, but now those days are over. The decline in food quality, staff friendliness, ethical businesses standards means we will take our business elsewhere.
