During my recent journey to the southern end of Phuket Island, I had the pleasure of dining at the FISH BAR & RESTAURANT, nestled in the quaint town of Rawai. However, the flavors, although pleasant, did not quite match the high expectations set by the restaurant's ambiance and price point. The seafood, while fresh, could benefit from more innovative seasoning and cooking techniques to truly stand out.
Service and Experience
The service throughout the meal was attentive and courteous, with staff members striving to ensure a comfortable dining experience. However, our experience was marred by an issue with the final bill. A more expensive item was charged in place of what we actually consumed. While mistakes can happen in any establishment, it was the handling of this situation that left room for improvement. After pointing out the discrepancy, the staff corrected the error, but the situation did subtract from the overall dining experience, introducing an unnecessary element of discomfort.
Final Thoughts
FISH BAR & RESTAURANT in Rawai offers a promising blend of beautiful location, pleasant food, and a generally good dining experience. While it excels in providing a visually stunning dining environment, the culinary journey, though good, does not ascend to the heights of exceptionalism. Additionally, attention to detail in service management, especially regarding billing accuracy, could enhance the overall customer satisfaction.

What a wonderful night we had at the Fish Bar & Restuarant! Sat on the shoreline of Rawai Beach, close to the pier, it made for a very romantic evening. We arrived just after sunset and unfortunately all the waterside tables were taken. We decided to wait and have a couple of drinks until a table became vacant which it did after about 30 minutes. We set our minds on a fish dinner and were delighted to see that grouper was available, which often isn't the case. After discussions with the server we opted to have it prepared sweet and sour and to have the head of the fish prepared with a tom yum soup. Because the grouper is not always available it is not on the menu. The price is dictated by the market and we paid 900 baht for one of a good size that made two dishes, the sweet and sour and the tom yum. We also ordered a somtum, medium spicy. All of our dishes were presented beautifully and the grouper was a delight, chunky sweet pieces. The tom yum was bursting with flavour, one of the best we've had in Phuket. The somtum was excellent, fresh ingredients with just the right amount of heat as requested. Along with our meal we enjoyed a few beers and a mai tai cocktail. The cocktail was amazing! The staff at the Fish Bar were friendly and attentive and our total bill for the evening was 1,700 baht, great value considering the prime setting by the water. If you are considering going then just go, you won't be disappointed!

Very good view. Going there before sunset is the best as we can see the sea and bridge at night. Seafood is fresh and we can choose the size (as in photos). Reasonable price.

They didn't bring anything right! They brought the food 6 times wrong and moreover everything individually. They forgot about 2x rice. We had to order drinks (smoothies) 3 times. They forgot the second round of drinks. We drank our own water, because all the food was extremely hot (3 chilies), we ordered very little hot!

The location is super exciting because you will see small islands and boats.
The food is so delicious so we had a yummy dinner. Recommend to try fish in traditional style, we have never tried before in Phuket. Also the Tamarind prawns are wonderful.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Rawai. I enjoyed my meal and the sea view. It tasted really good and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. I am definitely going back.
Great restaurant with an unobstructed view of the ocean. Steamed fish with lemon was particularly good: melts in your mouth and served with a generous serving of garlic. Service was friendly and attentive and the food arrived quickly. Perfect location for a lunch date.

Absolute amazing place! Sawatdi krab for everything. Starting with the great local food style with All the spices and the well balance side dishes. One of the dishes we had was panang curry with red snapper and also worth mentioning the fried shrimps with the fantastic tamarid sauce.
The service as well as the owner, love what they do and we felt the passion and their friendliness they showed to my wife and my family.
The place is a hidden gem for us. We loved the atmosphere at night with the lighting at the colors in the Sky.
We stayed in phuket for a whole week and ended up eating 4x in the fish bar. Lovely, thank you so much and we hope to See you soon.
