Excellent spot to make a break and get in the fresh water in the littel canal. Visit the old town before or after the spring is highly recommended, it offers some little Cafes and tranquillity of Alte. Be WARN'd at public holidays it can get crowded!

Pleasant riverside in a charming village called Alte. Cold fresh river water. Great for escaping the midday sun.

Lovely area, tucked away from all the busy tourist attractions in a small mountainess village in the Algavre. The bar is a good support for the spring water you can swim in. There is the opportunity to barbecue, but not in the high season due to fire risks. Further more there is plenty of space and pick nick tables for you to enjoy your pick nick or self made lunches. You can't buy food here!

Lovely place on the mountainside of Algarve. Who needs the beach with such a cozy place like this? Free parking, free entry. There is a bar and public bathrooms. Great water for a swim. Dogs are allowed ( I took mine and and he loved it). You can easily replace one morning at the beach to get to know the cute town of alte and this gorgeous stream.

Nice cafe with usual drinks for Portugal. Nice design.very pleasant location on the bank of the river
