I was in town visiting and stopped by due to the good reviews. I ordered the corn and crab soup and it was barely room temp and had to waive the waitress down to request it be warmed Up. It tasted how it looks - like puréed veggie soup with some mayo mixed with corn and crab on top. It was not good and I barely had any. My mom’s nachos were not good either. Waitress did not apologize or empathize about the food but seemed annoyed with our dissatisfaction. Great atmosphere but food wasn’t good and service was lackluster. Will not be returning. I was there for lunch. They has one person working the floor. It took over an hour to get in and out. I had blackened catfish, mashed potatoes, and cheese grits. The grits were the star of this show. This place has been one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in the states so far. I've been cycling across the states from Canada on my own food tour and this is a spot worth checking out. Had the chicken greens sandwich on the waiters recommendation, had the Bellini sips sour beer and a peach jalapeno margarita. Might have been the best Marg I've had in the states so far. Good stuff. First, the handicap parking was the second farthest space from the front door in the back lot. They placed us at the front door with the cold wind blowing in every time the door opened. When we ordered a bottle of wine, they were out. Waitress brought a different bottle. She opened it and put it in the wine bottle holder. She did not pour or even offer to pour. When asked, she said that we could pour it ourselves. When we ordered an appetizer, they were out. Waitress suggested the appetizer of the day softshell crawfish. We got one whole one, one small tail, and one head. With a dipping sauce, a little heavy on the orange flavoring. When we ordered our entrées they were our. The ones that we got, sea scallops (3) they were good, so so sauce. The lamb was a joke, 6 medallion size pieces ice cold and tough, and sauce didn't match the lamb. That was it for the meal. Reservation was at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Beginning of the night and out of four things on their menu, hard to serve your customers. I feel that the meal was overpriced for the food that they are serving, with tired and very slow service. As for the music, I think that they are playing the wrong music for the clientele and music was too loud, which makes your customers have to talk loudly. We won't be back, and I can not recommend it. A great dining experience! Visited Forklift Restaurant for Saturday morning brunch, it's a very popular place. Great unique food menu, great service and atmosphere. Has a very nice bar and outdoor area. Looks like a great place to be on a Friday night. Would definitely visit again for a meal or drinks. The sign says it all "Southern, Elevated".
