The food was pretty good. The stuffing in the baked stuffed shrimp was pretty dry. They give a little dish of melted butter which was much needed. Our server was so pleasant and helpful. The cocktails were great. I had the espresso white Russian. Dinner rolls are 10/10. It's a little dark in the restaurant but it gave a romantic vibe. A little on the expensive side. The place is really nice, and I was seated right away. The waitress was helpful, kind and patient. The whole waitstaff was nice, and I commend them because I watched some out of control crazy loudmouth lady completely berate a couple of them because she felt the music was too loud. The gentleman she was with looked defeated, and the staff moved her seat and handled her beautifully. The food was timely and had some flavor to it! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great spot, accessible to all folks since they have an elevator to get inside. Started with French onion soup, which was the BEST I've ever eaten. My ribeye steak was SUPERB, cooked perfectly! The NE warm lobster roll was amazing also. Glass of Malbec suggested by Tonya rounded it out. It was my birthday and it was WELL spent! WELL worth time and money spent. Happy birthday to me! My family and I have been here numerous times. We come here because the atmosphere is nice and friendly staff. However, the last few times I've been here, there's "glitches" along the way. On one visit, I ordered the steak sandwich, and it was served without gorgonzola sauce as written. Took nearly 15 minutes to get it from the kitchen. My father was done eating by the time my sauce came out. This week, I was with my wife and I ordered the double burger and asked for bacon. It came served without and it took 5 minutes to get it. Then the liquor I originally ordered was out of stock, so I ordered a different drink. After I paid my tab, turned out the waiter never took it the original liquor off the bill. So the manager came by and explained what happened and that he refunded my card but also compensated my replacement drink, which was a nice gesture. Always enjoy every experience we have at Founders house! We started with the escargot which was juicy and tender and filled with flavor! I got the lobster roll and upgraded to the truffle parm fries while my husband got the stuffed shrimp! Both dishes were very good! Valentines dinner disappointment. I can give some wiggle room considering it’s a busy holiday but the overall poor service and food was inexcusable. We arrived with a reservation and the hostess didn’t seem to have a table ready for us. After a few minutes of waiting we were escorted to their lovely side dining room to find that another couple were already seated at the table meant for us and the hostess had no idea what to do. So she ends up offering us a 4 seat table in the middle of the crowded bar which was not as romantic as the dining room but we wanted to eat so it is what it is. We didn’t receive our bread and butter until halfway through our dinner entrees. We never were asked if we wanted refills on drinks or if we needed anything. I ordered the stuffed shrimp special and substituted the mashed potatoes with parmesan truffle fries. When the meal came it was just regular fries. I asked if they could be replaced and those didn’t come for 15+ minutes. There were three piles of stuffing on the plate but only two of them had shrimp underneath. Let me repeat, they served me two shrimp with stuffing and a third pile of just stuffing. When I brought this up with the waitress, she asked me to pile the stuffing onto my appetizer plate to take back to the kitchen to “show them” the mistake. At this point, why wasn’t my entire dinner plate taken back to the kitchen? maybe they could have also brought out my fries at the same time. Was the meal supposed to have 2 or 3 stuffed shrimps? I was not given any communication that the shrimp would be replaced. The stuffing was like a paste and made entirely out of ritz crackers. I didn’t taste or see any veggies or seafood in the stuffing. When our meal was finished we asked for the check instead of sticking around and ordering dessert and that is when a waiter came out with a single stuffed shrimp on a plate asking if I wanted it. Our meal was finished and they brought out the food too late. The waiter then placed his hand on my shoulder which was completely unnecessary and informed me that one of my cocktails would be comped. Not my $30+ meal.. just one single cocktail. Then after we receiving the check we found that we were charged for two sodas when we only ordered one. Spend you special occasion elsewhere. Stopped in for early dinner as our first time. Patio seating was really nice and the service was great, though admittedly the dinner crowd hadn't shown up yet. My fiancé had a cup of wine and I had a cocktail made with absinthe rinse. Both were amazing choices. We loved the drinks, atmosphere and server. Server also server me a taster for absinthe since I had never had it before which is very appreciated. I'm vegetarian and so did not find many things to eat , I visited here after lunch so wasn't looking for any food anyway. Loved the cocktail and will surely visit again.

I can not say this enough. I love founders! The food is delicious, and it's paired with a tremendous atmosphere.
