O.M.G. boy was that a great meal! Wow!!! We were immediately greeted by a wonderful waitress, who told us to sit anywhere we liked. She had great recommendations from the extensive menu! We chose the brisket enchiladas with rice & refried beans (wow! The enchiladas were fantastic and the beans were to die for!), the 2-meat plate (ribs & lean brisket- oh so good), with a side of beans and curly fries, the brisket grilled cheese sandwich (on crunchy Texas toast 😋 soooooo good) with yummy crunchy sweet potato fries, and the Pretty Pig sandwich (pulled pork & sausage on a toasted hamburger bun with BBQ sauce and a fried egg) with curly fries. We were also served the soup of the day, before our food came out - it was a clear broth with vegetables and rib meat. Everything was delicious and on point. We can't wait to come back and try more of their excellent BBQ!
Service was pretty bad. We stopped in on a Saturday morning and placed our order at 10:52. There were people already waiting for their breakfast. I believe 1 family was dining in and also waiting for a to-go order and there was one other gentleman waiting for his food. I ordered 3 chorizo and egg breakfast tacos (.99¢ ones) and I ordered a breakfast plate with huevos rancheros, refried beans, bacon and diced potatoes. I ordered another breakfast plate with the same thing but added barbacoa, plus a 1/2 lb of barbacoa. Our To-Go order took forever. We finally received our order @11:35, so 48 minute wait. No one ever came to give us an update, but I can only imagine there were 1 - maybe 2 people in the kitchen. The waitress was not very attentive as she never came over to let us know or give us an explanation about the wait time. Food was good. The barbacoa was tasty. The flour tortillas are much smaller than your Stripes tacos. I had to reheat my bacon because it was cold, soggy chunky, chewy - almost like beef jerky. The salsa for the rancheros was dry and was also cold, it should at least be room temperature. My husband loved his scrambled eggs and said they were the best eggs he's ever had: fluffy, they had a lot of texture, rich flavor and filling. Perfectly seasoned. My boys enjoyed their tacos and barbacoa was great, very subtle smokey flavor and meaty, (not a lot of grease). I had previously rated Frankie's a 2 because of the lack of customer service and the 46 minute wait....also the bacon and salsa but after writing the pros and cons, I will rate it a 3. Food is good but still not a great experience.

Tried it for the very first time and was very pleased with the food and service. They have very good prices on the lunch specials and prices overall are very reasonable. BBQ was super delicious and had tons of flavor.Bristed was moist and bbq sauce is really good too. Waitress was very attentive and service was fast. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Brisket quesadillas were good. Started us off with some of the best soup I've ever had. Extremely friendly and welcoming service. Only negative was they don't serve bkfst menu in the afternoon. UPDATE: actually went for breakfast, had the breakfast bowl. It was pretty good, service was still friendly, but they don't have coffee! I don't think I've ever seen a breakfast place with no coffee. Choices were softdrinks, Iced tea or water...

First time eating here and everything on the menu sounded yummy… Lots to choose from 😊 …. I ordered The Rodeo and it was phenomenal… My friend Mary ordered the all American which was just as good… 😊💕
Recently, I took a late lunch and was in the mood for some BBQ to which I found myself over at Frankie Flav’z CRAFT BBQ over in Harlingen. When I walked in, the place was a little quiet (guess I missed the lunch rush) but was fine considering that I just wanted to get something to eat. The cashier (Mari) helped me decide as it was the first time eating here. She recommended the two-meat plate special which I agreed to and not disappointed in the slightest. Let me tell you that I was blown away by the serving of my plate. The plate included the ribs, beef brisket with the creamed corn and baked beans on the side. The picture that I provided does not do the meal any justice. Both the ribs and brisket had a milder flavor than I was used to considering as a born and bred Texan who is used to Mesquite smoked meats. However, the taste was a breath of fresh air as the meat was well seasoned and tender. I had the pleasure of speaking to Alejandro, one of the Pit-Masters there, who provided the insight to the thought process what makes Frankie’s the place to grab some tasty BBQ at a reasonable price. He gladly explained how he prepared the sides as well as how the meat was seasoned and smoked which in my opinion, shows the passion that he and Frankie have for providing great food. Overall, I expect to be going back again very soon and bringing backup as the food is well worth the trip and not a killer on the wallet. I want to thank both Mari and Alejandro for an outstanding experience and look forward to my next visit. On a side note - If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Highly recommend (come with an appetite) Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20
The food was fabulous. The Wrangler taco was super. Service was great. That Wrangler Taco was so good I had to go back and get another. It is so big I was able to have two meals from it. Dona Carmen is a special lady & puts her heart into her cooking. Everything is from scratch & every taco is made when you order it. No food sitting under a heat lamp or steam table. Great food from the heart. Frankie & Mikie are blessed to have her. If you want good authentic home cooked breakfast go to Frankie Flav'z CRAFT BBQ CO. Just finished eating the 3 meat plate. I'm very pleased. The brisket was very juicy and didn't need any sauce, so too were the ribs. Spices and smoke flavors are a perfect blend. The jalapeno/cheese sausage was good too. I suggest calling ahead if you don't want to wait the 15 minutes it took to get my order out to me. Definitely will be trying the other meat options in the near future.
First time eating here and not disappointed. I ordered a brisket sandwich with macaroni my wife had the enchiladas with rice and beans. Both were great meals😋😋😋 Service Dine in Price per person $10–20
It was very hot in the restaurant. The waiter wasn't much help and she would forget what we had ordered. She also brought us the wrong order twice and still charged us for the food we didn't want. The waiter seemed new but also that she didn't want to be there. The cook was frustrated and mad because they wanted to close already. The food was cold and nothing like we saw on the pictures. The mashed potatoes were spoiled and the bacon was very hard. I had the Mac n brisket bowl and it had s hair in it. It is unfortunately not worth the wait and money to eat there. Wouldn't recommend.
