From over 350 locations in the 60s, Frostop Drive-in is down to just 13 locations so it's a fading part of America's fast food history. There's only one in WV then the next closest is in Indiana, with the majority in Louisiana. Being a part of history, and with my only other walk-to option being McDonald's, I had to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed though I would suggest if it's a hot day, eat in your car. The outdoor seating is fun and nostalgic but is uncomfortable in hot weather, and if you're eating with more than one other person, somebody's going to have to sit in the sun. The service was top rate. The car hops were friendly and knowledgeable about their products, and the food came out quickly. The prices are good for the fresh and hot food you receive. The food quality was pretty good though the french fries were nothing to write home about, though they didn't deserve a complaint. The burgers are 1/5 pound patties so a double is a good size. The meat seemed fresh and was cooked well. The toppings (mayo, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes) also seemed fresh and were tasty. The double cheeseburger I got was very good, but I wouldn't rank it up with many other specialty burgers, though definitely better than most other fast food burgers. The root beer (their signature recipe) was very good and refreshing, as you would expect. I was given the choice of a frosted mug or a to-go cup and opted for the cup, wanting to take the rest with me, though the mug probably would have been more fun (and nostalgic). So, I wouldn't drive too far for it, but if in town I would certainly eat at Frostop again. It's an especially good choice if you're at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, being right across the street! Perfection on all counts. Our food was brought out fast, and was delicious! Had their root beer in a mug and I have never tasted such goodness. We bought a growler to bring home. Our waitress was such a sweet and attentive lady. This is a drive in establishment so you sit in your car to eat. Hot Dog Sauce/Chili is very thin with no meat. Wieners are pork/chicken mix and I think this ruins a hot dog. Hot dogs were very messy. The root beer was great. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Stopped by during lunch for a quick bite. The root beer here is some of the best, so I had a root beer float and it was fantastic. The root beer has just a bit of bite to it, coupled with the creamy soft serve made for a perfect root beer float. The cheese fries were generous and had cheese layered throughout. The hotdogs aren’t the greatest, but not bad. They don’t steam in their wrappers like other places and it resulted in a crusty bun once I got home. The sauce/chili is thin and has very little meat, but was still good. The hotdogs are the pork/chicken mix type, which I find to be much better than the all beef ones. Personally not a fan of beef hotdogs, but to each their own. For the price and level of service you can’t beat Frostop. They offer old fashion carhop service, which is really unique. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a quick affordable bite to eat with food that’s pretty good. Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10

Not very many of these remaining on the earth :-) and I sure am glad there's one in my hometown... This has the smoothest greatest root beer I've ever tasted in my life and this has the classic retro feel of those drive-ins of old... If you're ever in Huntington take a moment to stop at this classic place... The food is delicious and reasonably priced. We've ate here many times and it's always been a great experience. Honking to get the servers attention always feels rude to me, but the workers are always kind and prompt. I've had many different things on the menu- the burger being my favorite and their classic pulled pork my least-- however my grandma would argue the pork is the best and it's the only thing she gets from there! The root beer in a frosted mug is an amazing treat, just make sure you have a safe place to sit it in the car! My newest favorite item they carry is a ginger soda called Ale-8-one. I've only ever found it in bottles here in WV, but they have it on tap! If for no other reason I'll be back for my favorite soda, but the good food and throwback novelty of drive in diner are also wonderful reasons to go! Everything I ordered was so delicious. The onion rings are trumscralesant. And the Root beer, is like no other, it's their own brew and I couldn't get enough. Great service too, and you don't even have to leave your spaceship to eat. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Onion Rings

Frostop is a drive-in restaurant, located pretty close to Marshall. Frostop hotdogs are simply yummy. In great WV tradition, the buns are steamed, the hot dog is tender, and it's available with chili sauce and Cole slaw. The staff are quick and efficient. Eating here is one of those experiences - good food at a fun place. Service Delivery Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Slaw Dog

May not be everyone's cup of tea but for a fan of the 50s drive in feel. Not from around here but from what I understood it's one of the oldest places in Huntington. Grabbed a chilli dog, a cheeseburger, and one of their root beers. Food is every bit that perfect drive in taste. Dog tasted good and beefy, the slaw and chilli on it were excellent too. The burger wasn't soggy but was juicy. But the main attraction is that homemade root beer. The vanilla they put in it must be through the roof. It was by far and away the best root beer that ever touched my lips. I should have got a float but needless to say I will be back. Sunday, June 23rd, Tony and I had the best Hot Dogs so far in West Virginia at the FROSTOP off Hal Greer Blvd in Huntington, WV for lunch. This place is Awesome. Fast service and great prices. 2 Hot Dogs and Tony had a Chocolate Milkshake. I bought my Pepsi at speedway only .89 cents there. Waitress very friendly and food service was quick. I got a Slaw Dog with chili, onion and thin line of mustard. Tony a chili dog with onions and mustard. Great chili sauce!!! Slaw was fresh and sweet with slightly wet juicy consistency. Loved it!!! The chili is to die for. The wieners are boiled and buns steamed. I paid $6.87 with taxes plus tip
