Amazing place and even better food! The restaurant is modern, quiet, perfect for a nice date. Prices are very fair for quality and amount of food that you get. Picanha is definitely top, even better than some local Brazilian places that serve this dish. Wine and cocktails were super good too. All waitresses and waiters were very friendly and polite. It was a pleasure to visit such a restaurant where one can have a little experience of some fine dining for a low price. For the amount of food served and the impeccable kind of service this place is quite cheap. All of the dishes were simple, but amazingly well prepared, I left the restaurant super full and didn't finish the whole portion of onion cod. There is a great variety of options in the menu(meat, fish and vegetarian) and variety of the type of main ingredients used. Unlike many other restaurants, they put some effort in the entrees, some of which can be a meal on their own. I especially appreciated their attention to the details like all of the plates and the way they match each other as well as with the restaurant's interior. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! What an awesome stop we made. The food was outstanding. Nicholas was a amazing and he spoke great English. The manager was awesome. The food I cannot tell you enough just how good it was.

My sister in law lives in Vila Real, so we tried several restaurants over the years. GA.RE. Is definitely different, stylish, good food, good service, friendly, they really know what they are doing. It was an amazing experience. The food was incredible, the waiters were really nice. We ate really well and the quantity compare to the price is unique. This is the best restaurant we did during our stay. It deserves more acknowledgments. The only thing that is different from France will be the meal for 2 people. I'm a little puzzled by all the superb reviews. Four of us came here and were not that impressed. My grilled pork was dry and uneventful. One of us ordered a pasta seafood soup which was flavorful but heavy on the pasta and oversalted. They almost redeemed themselves with the fried cod and desserts, all of which were quite good, though the shrimp atop the cod was overcooked. Service was earnest but inept and painfully slow.
