We recently had the pleasure of dining at "Ghodlas," a charming Indian restaurant that left our taste buds dancing with delight. From the moment we stepped inside, the friendly reception and warm aromas set the stage for a great foodie experience. The menu showcased a diverse array of dishes and the butter chicken we ordered was a delicious balance of flavors, leaving me craving more with every bite! The potato samoosas were another highlight with a beautifully thin and crisp pastry and generous, aromatic filling. The butter and garlic naan was also absolute perfection and service was prompt and attentive. By far the best Indian restaurant I've tried in ages. Well done guys and keep up the great service! What a delight. Uber delivery man was friendly, and delivery arrived on time. The Butter Chicken was flavourful, loads of sauce with just the right amount of spiciness (mild). The mince samosas was delicious and of great quality. My butter naan was just perfect. Overall a 5 star experience. Reading through the rest of the reviews..I can't help but think they are fake! Otherwise these same people reviewing have no idea what Indian food or food for that matter should taste like. Much like the other few bad reviews (via Uber Eats). The food was absolutely disgusting 🤢. Took one bite and left the rest. If I could rate without a star I would have. Curry tastes like watered down tomato bredie and biryani was again tomato based tasting, lacked any real flavour and just plain gross! Never ever again! Table for 9 as we were celebrating my wife's birthday. Service from the owner was good to handle this size table. They don't have a liquor licence so you welcome to bring your own drinks. Starters was samosas which was full of ingredients. I ordered butter chicken and the taste was good however the bowls was too small thus too little sauce to enjoy. Also the tandoori chicken was overspiced and very salty. The breyanis again was delicious. Presentation of the bowls and setting was very good and could see detail was spent there. Overall a nice experience to taste Indian food once again. If I had any advise for them they should and if they do have a tandoori oven as the menu says bring it to the front to enhance the smells into the restaurant. Very nice atmosphere and good quality food. Open during loadshedding and a perfect place for dinner with friends or family. I order takeaway constantly from this place as well, and I have never been let down by quality of food. Highly recommend to go if you are near. Good venue in Tyger Waterfront for tasteful North Indian curry and condoments. Their food is good and prices are reasonable. Eat in or take away. Interesting dessert options too.
