Wow! We had a fantastic dinner here over the weekend and would recommend this place to anyone who likes really good Italian food! Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted fresh! Out of everything we ordered, we liked the Chicken Gianna Soup as well as the Pasta Carbonara the best, and me and my wife will be fighting over who will get to order it next time! The only downside (and it's not that big of a deal as I still gave them 5 stars) is that for their alcohol selection, they only offer beer and wine. Again it isn't that big of a deal and we will definitely be returning here as we usually stay the night in the area when we take a cruise out of Galveston! If I were to describe Gina's in 3 words it would be Italian Comfort Food. Everything we have eaten here has been absolutely delicious. Most of my family absolutely lives their alfredo. My favorites are the Chicken Gianni Soup and Godfather pizza. We also love their fried calamari(it's a HUGE appetizer)! The kids meal has incredible portions as well & the fries are deliciously seasoned. Held a bridal shower in Gina’s private room and it was perfect! From booking the room to the waitress to the delicious food! I can not recommend them enough for any event you may be planning but it was perfect for our 20 people gathering! I stopped by for lunch, it was around 11:00 when they open. Was seated and served rather quickly. The food was pretty good. This was my first time coming to this Italian restaurant. It's a nice place. Good food for the price. The desserts looked much larger than the ones shown on the tray they brought around. I would say all of the portions are large (Entrée & dessert). All four of us could have split one cake slice. Overall I would recommend it for a nice place to sit & dinner. Gina’s is a neighborhood staple and we’ve taken family here many times before for lunch and dinner. While we keep coming back, it is arguably the most inconsistent restaurant in the area. Some nights you get great service and serving portions that seem appropriate for the price, other nights it looks like you received a kids meal or receive service that is less than jolly that you’re there. Some days the focaccia they give you is hard as bricks, other days it’s well-risen and delicious. Just hope you come here on their good days. Coming here is like a fun game of dining roulette. Excellent food from the herbal bread and unique dipping sauce to the pizzas (generous and flavorful toppings) to the yummy ice cream. Servers are all friendly and helpful -- even to each other. We decided to give Gina’s Italian kitchen a try and I am glad we did! The food was authentic Italian and very fresh. Everything was amazing including the soups and pastas. I had the Mike and Jen which was super tasty. I would also recommend the chicken Marsala. This is our new go to spot for Italian. Better than Maggianos.
