Who would have imagined that fried chicken could be this amazing? This is, without a doubt, the most exceptional fast food fried chicken ever! Although we rarely indulge in fried chicken, we were craving it and wanted to order from our usual place. However, we decided to try something different and opted for Golden Chick, despite never having tried it before. To our astonishment, it was an absolute game-changer! We have never experienced chicken this phenomenal before. The crunchiness was unreal, and the flavor was the best we've ever had. It's unbelievable that it's considered fast food! Since we can only have fried food occasionally, this is now our go-to place. It's incredibly delicious, juicy, and piping hot. Even after taking it home, it remains too hot to handle. Normally, I'm not a fan of fast food, but this is a noteworthy exception. It's mind-boggling that we have passed by this amazing place countless times, but now we know exactly where it is. This establishment is always busy. It is best to order via phone. If not, you will have to wait in line for your order if you go in person. Been coming to this location for years and always left happy until recently, they’re often forgetting our sides. Several times my spicy is actually regular and one time I caught it too late. Today I ordered food for my elderly father in law and got myself wings. After I order and go pay in drive through they tell me it’ll be another 10min for the wings and I nicely say that’s okay, 30min later of waiting it’s already dark and I go ask nicely for a refund. Nobody apologized or offered an explanation. I love the food here but this was completely unacceptable. The counter was full w employees and nobody could get my wings in under 30min. Great chicken. I've tried both cruchy and crispy fried and the roasted chicken. Both super moist. Sides are all good. Service is always great. Only one thing that would make this a 5 star. I cant stand the white gravy they serve. Livers are the bomb!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Always a good experience at Golden Chick in La Joya. They almost always have exactly what I go there for...instead of having to pick and choose from whatever they may only have available at the time. Friendly & polite service. Only negative thing is the wait time at the drive though however this time around, given there were three vehicles in front of me, I was in & out within about 20 minutes. This particular location was great. My first time eating at Golden Chick. The staff worked together and there was an abundance of smiles. Would visit again soon if I did not live in Mission.
