My parents have been coming here for years so that should attest for something. I personally have never gone here on my own just strictly with my parents. Not that I'm opposed to that, it just seems more of a family type establishment rather than a date night destination. The atmosphere is casual, like a step above a Rams horn and the menu has a pretty wide range of options to fit varying tastes. The service is always good as it is a family owned business I assume the staff is expected to meet a certain criteria since it is a family's reputation at stake. The meals are prepared with a homestyle feel with nice sized portions. My daughter is a big fan of shrimp scampi and unfortunately she had to send it back last night as she said it had a soap taste. I expect this is a one off since we have dined here several times without incident and felt inclined not to mention it in this review but for the sake of transparency I decided to. This definitely would not cause hesitation on my part to return and I still completely recommend. On the other hand, my wife said it was the second best lamb shank she's ever had, the first being a $100 meal in Los Angeles so take that into consideration. Prices are reasonable and and there's good reason they have been in business 3 generation's. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

Golden Eagle takes you back to when things were good. Service good, food good, they have been doing it for 40+ years and they know how to do it. I see staff that have been there for over 20 year's! You always see the owner helping out and Fred making sure that things are going well. The food never disappoints and if you are looking for a good tenderloin with Mario sauce look no further; best around hands down. Spaghetti Bolognese is always good and the fish is always cooked perfectly You can't go wrong if you are not feeling steak as everything is tasty.

I have never been here before but my in-laws are regulars. The food was great. Treading on the expensive side but worth the cost. I got the chicken picante and it was delicious and properly proportioned. In fact, all their proportions were great. Not too much, not too little. The staff was phenomenal. I heard the hostess recognize several customers and refer to them by name while we were waiting. Our waitress was attentive and had a great personality and also recognized other diners at other tables. I can see why people are regulars and continue to come back. Amazing meal. First time there and highly impressed. The clan chowder rivaled any I've had in cape cod MA, which was very surprising. The traverse City salad upgrade was excellent. Never had a bad meal here! 10 oz Prime rib special on Monday (and Saturday) for $23! One of the best we've ever had! So tender and delicious! Kudos to chef Don! Great clam chowder and salad, tasty hot bread! The complete meal. And old style ambience with excellent service! Thank you for being consistently great!

We've recently moved to the area and look forward to trying various places. We had company over, and we took them to Golden Eagle. All four of us were very pleased with our dinner. My filet mignon, which I requested as medium rare, was cooked to perfection. The twice baked potato was fabulous. I also really enjoyed the chocolate mousse for dessert. Not too many places have that anymore, and I was tickled to see it there. We received really excellent service from Joey. She was attentive without being intrusive; That's a fine line that many restaurants/servers are not able to manage. When we left we all agreed that we would definitely be coming back. Mario sauce! I love coming here from the Mario sauce for my steak. The steak is good but not a steakhouse quality but highly affordable and that Mario sauce makes up for it. Service is impeccable.
