We ate here many times during our two week holiday and each time the service and food were outstanding. Anil takes fantastic care of his customers and went above and beyond to make our holiday special. We would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends! They also have great live music later in the evening, however for lunch you can relax to the sound of the waves as you are right on the beach. Food and drink can be brought directly to you as you sit on one of their sun loungers which you can rent for 100 baht. Thank you so much to all of the staff at the Golden Fish! Very slow kitchen, but everything else great. We visited twice for dinner and in both cases received food after 45-60 minutes of wait. Too bad. Otherwise the place has a good potential as the food is nice and the atmosphere is just Spectacular! unfortunately, as we received food so late and sporadically (some arrived after 25 min and some after 60 minutes) - we can’t rate this place higher than this. When we complained after 45 minutes they apologized but still took too long. It is definitely Thai style place which is just in front of the beach. The staff is super nice and food ok. I had fish which was good, but had better in Thailand. Nice place for sunset.

Absolutely fantastic place to be... Friendly, kind, just by the sea. Lovely food served by "we can do anything" service... What more anyone can ask for... Prices very reasonable... Highly recommend the "golden fish"... Which by the way is not just a restaurant... Has many hats, cocktail bar, beach bar... Can come from morning and stay all day/evening... Just unwind and relax... Really don't understand why this is a 4.5 restaurant. The service wasn't exactly warm or friendly and the food is just ok. We ordered 4 plates: 1) shrimp cakes were crispy, not oily. The best of the 4 plates. 2) yam woon sen: no mint, no flavor, no lemongrass, no fish stock or oyster sauce. Flavorless. Oversized chunks of squid, rubbery mussels. 3) Penang curry with shrimp: tasted ok, but watery, not enough curry. Seemed like they threw in the vegetables since they were hardly cooked, still hard. 4) gapao: not the deep basil flavors you'd expect. Everything arrived less than 5 minutes after ordering. Can't be prepared freshly at all. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

After reading reviews I had high expectations of the food. It was only ok. The beach front property older furniture weathered by sun and storm. I ordered: Pad Thai 2.5-3 stars. Only ok. Not great. Too sweet. Flavor profile off. Too much tamarind Fire-Grilled jumbo prawns by weight 3stars Did not taste fresh. Part of shrimp was still raw. Fir the price I expected it to be really really fresh. The sauce was great Chicken satay 4.5 stars. Delicious. The accompanying peanut sauce dnd cucumber salad was very delicious too Duck curry 4stars. Great Duck orange 4stars Though again. In my opinion the roasted duck did not taste extremely fresh Veggie spring roll 3.5 stars ok Rice was mediocre, ok View was amazing.
