We had lunch at Golden Grill just last Friday, as part of an Indian tourist group visiting Srilanka. Their buffet offered a great variety of local dishes which were well prepared. The service was very warm & excellent. The owner was personally meeting all guests & explaining each dish to interested group members. It's a restaurant worth visiting. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What an amazing meal we had. From the Sri Lankan crab curry, chilly beef and fish curry to the minute steak and pasta, every dish was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. A special mention to try the coconut roti, which had a texture far from what we expected, and left us wanting for more. The establishment serves good food & can indulge in cold beer while enjoying the serene atmosphere. The portions are slightly towards the smaller side but still fills you up Take the "pineapple surprise towards the end to cap the experience No AC rooms & it can seat more than 50 at once without any hassle. If you indulge in a good beer be a responsible citizen & let another drive for you as the Benthota police station is just across 😉

We went here for dinner after seeing all the Google reviews. The restaurant location is very nice. The food was just ok. The surprise desert was a pleasant surprise. Must try the pineapple surprise. We were there the evening of the Sri lanka- India final Asia Cup match. The place was empty for dinner unfortunately. Golden Grill stand strong amongst four or five star class hotels in the town. This is my hometown I grew up more than 25 years ago. But folks from my town talked a lot about this Restaurant. Most of the times our friends brought in take away packs from this fabulous kitchen. This is located at the edge of Bentota Lake. A silent & calm place to enjoy your dish or wine. With pipe type background music, it always reminds me my youngerhood which I used work in BBH.

welcome at the door , food, service, presentation and ambience was nice... chairs with a cloth cover on it give a wedding hall feel, something better can be done. Their pineapple surprise is superb with a flame around ice cream !!
