This is my absolute favorite French restaurant in town. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Amazing wine, cheeses ❤️The manager and rest of the team are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in kota kinabalu.
Have not been here for a while, I always enjoy the steak here. Today, I ordered the chicken cordon and salad. They have new tables and chairs.... 😊😊😊 the food here is always good.
Not a bad way to taste western food in a French restaurant, the sirloin steak (RM45) was great with affordable price, Grandchamp burger of set lunch (RM17) was fantastic too with cheese and bacon. Lastly with an Earl grey (RM8). Highly recommended for couples and friends. Will come again~
A good place tp hang out with friends and family. Food is high quality & nicely cook, service is good, friendly staff. They also have a wide range of good wines to select for your special occasion or just pair with their cheese plater. Sure will back again.
Had dinner a few times, good food, only "complaint" is that the portions are on the big size, loved by locals. On Monday last, one in my party ordered the "tripe sausage", also ordered in previous occasions. The dish arrived, the "aroma" not noticed being covered by the sauce. On cutting and worse, trying to eat it, well, the tripes content yes was not there, but the tripe was not washed BEFORE being filled into the sausage. Long story short: the chef refused four (4) times to come to our table, and on the last refusal I said I am calling the Health Department. The chef appeared, and long story short again; the chef stated that the owner stated that this is how the "tripe aroma" should be. Too long a story to continue, worth to note is that the tripe did smell and also tasted (and dutifully spitted out) like unwashed tripe, tripe in natural conditions. BEWARE OF THIS DISH!!!!
A very good little wine bar for a small city like Kota Kinabalu. Nice selection of wines from all over the world. We saw good cheeses too, but haven't had the chance to try them.
Was looking for a place with some nice wine and comfort food while in KK and came across Grandchamps.
Enquired about their wines and the girls just asked me to look at the display case. Asked about the house pouring they just barely remember what it was, so forget about having a discussion with them on it. Even then it wasn't clear so I had to ask for the bottle to have a look. For a restaurant that advertises that it focuses on its wine as much as its food I was hoping for more. Displayed wines were a bit better than other places I've been in KK but with the less well known labels, and without someone to assist, I probably missed some gems that they had.
Food was ok. Decent comfort food. Again girls had some difficulty making recommendations beyond the simple phrases like "the lamb is good"
I had a high chair seat. Wasn't too comfortable after a long day of scuba diving. The seat had a low back and you could not lean back. Had my main meal and asked for the bill.
The restaurant was rather crowded so its well liked by the locals. So reservations might be good in case its full when you do a walk in.
The Mediterranean food choices are properly prepared and presented - delicious ... Can't wait for the food supply chain to recover and return for the cheese, cold cuts and steaks... Great wine selection to round things out.
