Came here on a weekday lunch during winter break, and it was actually busier than I expected! However, my friend and I had absolutely no issue getting seated. I came here thinking that I'd be getting some Nepalese food, but Hamro really does a mix of Nepalese and Indian food.
I ordered the goat biryani and got garlic naan for the table, which were tasty, but not exceptional. The garlic naan had pieces of garlic on top of it that I had not seen on garlic naan before, but were still not bad. The biryani was good, but the bowl was too small for the bowl, which made it slightly difficult to eat.
Not a bad spot!

I am having the steamed veggie momo which is fabulous!! I want 5 orders, lol!! The sauce is delicious! Like a spicy tomato based curry... that you dip dumplings into. Yum!
I ordered the soup that goes with Momo and it's tasty. However, the Chai is off the chain! Lol! It's the first real chai tea I've found that's homemade. Mine is very good and this is as good or better. Highly recommend.

Open only nine days, this Nepalese/Indian restaurant appears to be very popular. There were several groups of people waiting to be seated. After less than 10 minutes, the owner/chef appeared and apologized for the wait, which was largely due to short staffing and unanticipated popular demand. Our party of two was seated within the next 10 minutes. The menu was extensive, with chicken, mutton, goat, and vegetarian dishes. The photos of dishes in the menu were appetizing but need to be labeled for the diner unfamiliar with food from this part of the world. Although we waited about 30 minutes to place our order and another 30 minutes to be served, the food was quite good, with good taste and spice (heat) levels. The decor was decidedly bold burnt orange and maroon, in keeping with the colors of the local university (VA Tech). The lighting was bright, cool LED ceiling lamps - I would recommend a warmer tone more in line with the warm painting scheme. For a mid-priced appetizer, two types of Naan bread, a mango lassi, a Nepali coffee, and chicken marsala and chicken biryani entrees (with ample leftovers), the tab was $60. Overall, a very pleasant and welcome dining experience, one that we will likely bring friends and family to enjoy.

WOW - so happy to have this wonderful new Nepalese restaurant in town. Everything we tried was perfect! We had a fun little lunch with friends and were able to try lots of things: Nepali Salad, asparagus soup with chicken steamed momo, chowmein, chicken chili momo, basket of mixed naan with chana masala! Be patient as they get to full staffing. Relax and enjoy!

Went in tonight to dine with family. We ordered paneer chili, steam momos, jhol momos, mutton curry, and chicken choweain. Everything came in so fast, piping hot, appropriately spiced, and delicious. We are truly so impressed by the excellent service and quality of the food. Hamro Kitchen is truly one of its kind and I highly recommend everyone pay a visit.

The veggie momo chat are incredible, perfectly seasoned, best chick peas I have ever eaten. The paneer tikka masala and house naan are great as well. Cannot wait to return and try more dishes.

Ordered mutton curry today. The gravy tasted below average. The worst part is though there is no meat.. it’s all bones every single piece I got is bone. No meat attached to the bones. A good curry would be 70%meat and 30% bone. But this is 100% just bones. Very disappointing to say the least. For the price of $18+ you expect atleast some meat?!?!
This is one of the best vegetarian places in blacksburg!!! There’s a huge range of vegetarian options that are flavorful and delicious. 10/10, definitely give this place a shot.
