Never buy Parmesan here. After doing the mistake to buy it already a couple of times I’ll never repeat myself, I just want to warn other people to not buy spoiled food!
After asking the woman at the desk about fresh Parmesan she pointed that out and said:”this is the freshest Parmesan you can find! We just cut it!”
This is a scam! They’re selling rotten Parmesan as you can see in the picture it’s full of mold and it’s black! Shouldn’t be like that. Hopefully the dairy manager will do something they should not sell poison.

Right now I'm leaving 1 star which I may change later. I have been a HT customer for many years at different locations. I had surgery, so I had to place an online order. And there was a certain amount that was held with no pick up fee . When I went to pick up my groceries, they had charged me a pickup fee. So, I told them to refund it because I was told earlier it would be. Instead of refunding the money, they put it on my Harris Teeter account. I had very little money in this checking account and was only using a certain amount for this order. That 4.95 pick up fee was going to cause me to overdraft. I didn't want to have to drive to Jacksonville because of a 15 cent deficit. I called the store yesterday trying to get some help to no avail. The store manager, Chris, was told what was going on by the employee, because I could hear them talking. He would not get on the phone and talk to me. I had to call back to the store and ask for him. He was very unhelpful really rude, I thought. He is the store manager. He should take care of the customers. I'm recuping after surgery. He tried to pass the buck and tell me I needed to call an 800 number and talk to customer service about it instead of him taking care of it for me. He finally put me on hold and called HT cust svc. Then he put another person on the phone after he called and told me it will be 5-10 business days for me to receive a refund. Unacceptable! He wouldn't even get back on the phone with me. This is why we don't like Kroger taking over our North Carolina based Harris Teeter. This would never happen under the old way. Learn some Southern manners Chris.

The deli department is horrible! It takes too much time to get an item cut. Most of the employees are either talking or trying to ignore the customer at the counter. This is not a one time problem, it's everytime. And whatever you do ask an employee where an item is located because they don't know and won't help pointing you in the right direction. I much prefer Publix!

This is one of the best HTs I have been to and I have been to A Lot - from NOVA to Hampstead. Peter in produce is so helpful and Tim (not sure what department he is in) overheard me telling Jake (best check out clerk Ever) heard me say I couldn’t find Marsala wine for a dish, and he ran over with the product with Two! Yes! Two choices! I love this store! Plus - I have the Harris Teeter credit card which gives me points/rewards. Yay!!!
I have been to the area grocers, looked at their prices and HT is very reasonable, cheaper than Publix, cheaper than Walmart and way cheaper than Food Lion. HT also gives fuel points! I get up to .30 or more off per gallon. You just can’t go wrong with HT in Hampstead. 💕

I stop in often for groceries. They always have the freshest and best sushi 🍣 that you can get from a grocery store. They make it fresh DAILY! They also have a salad buffet, fried chicken and a deli. You can get a ready to eat slice of pizza also. And they have a coffee shop. I can't remember which coffee shop and they have a pharmacy. So far. Just ONE complaints in my 2 years shopping. They NEVER have any cookies or fruit to offer my little one...like other harris teeters or publix. That is why I'm rating 4 stars. Sushi 🍣 is amazing!! Another thing they have is a seating area looking out at the parking lot, with plugs (3 pronged ones) nice to sit and grub or bring your laptop.

I'd give it 5 stars if not for the deli. Their store staff and management is polite, professional, and customer focused except for the deli. Please understand this is not my first poor deli experience here, & they're all around the same issue. Today, I was #2 in line at the deli. There were 3 employees back there, 1 helping the person before me, the other 2 doing "other work", not customer facing, they never even looked my way. By my estimation, I had a minimum10+ minute wait as the helper mentioned he had to go in the back to get a new deli meat. It's not his fault but where is the focus on me by the other staff? Why didn't one of the other 2 refocus and produce some revenue by waiting on me? If I knew if what they were doing was for a customer, I'd accept it but to make me wait while they do other tasks is unacceptable. As I heard another irritated customer say who was behind me, " I'll stop at the Publix on the way back." In all my shopping experiences, both at other supermarkets & other Harris Teeter's, I've never felt so disregarded repeatedly. They don't seem to care here.

Best grocery store for Fresh fruit and vegetables including organic vegetables. Sushi 🍣 bar and pizza 🍕 are good too. Prices are higher than competitors for lots of items.
