Haru is a small, but cozy, Japanese Restaurant in Victoria, Gozo. We had walked by it many times thinking it was a take out restaurant. When we finally stopped in to check it out we were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable seating area. It was a joy to finally have some authentic Japanese food. The dumplings were mouth watering good. The rice was perfect. And the sushi was fresh, scrumptious and wonderfully pleasing. Add a WAKAME salad, it was the perfect meal. Very easy to get to by car or public transportation on Victoria's main road.

I LOVE Haru!
I thought Haru was a tea and snack shop, but after finding it on Google, I learned they served sushi. My partner and I stopped in one evening on a whim and fell in love with the tiny and cozy restaurant.
We had wakame salad, a dragon roll, a California roll, tuna and salmon sashimi, and a bottle of wine. Everything was over the top, fresh, and beautifully prepared with flavors that made our pallets happy.
The menu includes Nigiri, Sashimi, Futomaki, Hosomaki, and Uramaki. In addition, you'll find teppanyaki noodles, rice bowls, soups, Asian snacks, and desserts.
Haru does have tea of all kinds, along with smoothies. Beer and wine are also available.
Special touches like homemade sauces, perfectly prepared sushi rice, and creative presentations set Haru apart from other Asian restaurants. The service was very attentive and friendly. When our phone wouldn't work to view the menu QR code, our server offered us her electronic order pad.
I will return, again and again, my highest recommendation. Dine in or takeaway. For lunch or dinner, it is an exceptional Asian treat.

California Roll Nigiri
After a day trip around the island of Gozo, we visited the Asian restaurant Haru in the city of Victoria.
At the beginning, we hesitated whether this restaurant was the right choice for us.
My daughter wanted to try some bubble tea, so we went inside.
The staff attended to us immediately and prepared tables for 5 people.
We chose a selection of several types of Sushi for our meal.
We each chose one type to keep everyone happy.
Beautiful presentation and excellent seasoning, we ate everything in no time and ordered another Sushi 😊.
It was a pleasant and very tasty dinner, a big compliment to the restaurant staff.

Steamed Gyoza is the most tasty in our order. The noodles are chewy and you know immediately they made it fresh.
Best tasting milktea and fruitea in Malta and Gozo. Asians will definitely know the difference 😘
Tip: ask for popping bobba for your fruitea. It made it all the more exciting 🥳

🌸 Can't live without the 🍲 Wonton Soup 🌸
... and I mean it! With me being Asian and living on Gozo, it's hard to find good soup.
Haru's Wonton Noodle Soup tastes exactly like the ones you're getting in Hongkong downtown Kowloon and it can keep up easily with the ones you're getting in Singapore as well.
What I try to say is that I can skip everything but can't skip soups (not sure if that's an Asian thing...) 😅
My personal favorite at Haru is of course the heavenly "must have" Wonton Noodle Soup, and the beef bao buns. The meat is extremely tender and melts in the mouth.
The sushi 🍣 is the best you're getting on the island.
Oh and I tried for the first tea the bubble tea. You should try the lemon smoothie with blueberry bubbles 🤩 SO SO GOOD!

So bad 🤣 i didn’t have any cash change & server was too stingy to let me buy an overpriced coffee by card (bc they may get a small charge) unless i ordered some food that i didn’t want. I didn’t want so she refused to make me coffee & serve me! Haha.. kindv unreal! 😂 i travelled the world & gozo is home to some of the rudest ppl & bad service i ever encountered.
Easily the best Sushi 🍣 on the Gozitan island 🏝 Great friendly, helpful staff and awesome service.
