It's a great Indian restaurant. The curry dishes were freshly made. We enjoyed meeting and spending time with the owner. He and his staff make the extra effort to ensure the patrons are taken care of. The spiciness of the food can be tailored to your taste. Will be back. A definite must for first-time or seasoned curry food lovers.
The food is excellent. I have the opportunity to eat Indian food as my students (natives of India) often bring me dishes. This tastes exactly the same. I love it. The food is spicier than what most people would be used to, though not as spicy as what my students typically make. I will be returning.
Traveled to Stillwater for Basketball game. Opted to try this place out as we dont have a Himalayan restaurant back home. Plan was to gett take out to eat back at hotel prior to game. From some of previous reviews, I expected place to be dirty or smell inside. It didnt. We wanted to try Mo Mo, but unfortunately they were out of those MoMo "dumplings' that night. That was a bit of a disappointment and owner said they needed to make more and would have them next day. The food we did order was much better than we anticipated from reviews. I will include photos of dining area and out take out items. We wanted to go to resturant to ask questions and clarify by ordering in person rather than on line. When we arrived a few minutes after 5pm, (when resturants re-opened for dinner) the cook was ready busy making several online and delivery orders ahead of ours. The owner told us it would be at least 20 min on our order. took about 25 min.
Ordered Navratan korma, pear (sweet) naan, tandoori chicken. Mango lassi and mint lassi Only item we did not like was mint lassi, just wasnt a good flavor combo for us, personally. My husband thought the tandoori chicken was some of the BEST he has ever had. The drumsticks were HUGE, seasoning flavorful
My korma was also excellent, tasted fresh and temperature was hot. Portion size good. Food wrapped well to go. I wish this resturant was in my hometown My tip, would be order ahead, use online menu if possible to avoid ling wait. Even with wait, it was worth it! Owner and female shop clerk friendly. You have to walk to the back of grocery store to "enter' resturant. Expected broken English and heavy accent here. Thank you, we enjoyed it. Hope to try MoMo some other time if and when in town again.
I love shopping here. I always try something new but pick up kitchen staples when needed. I like to get my spices and seasonings here. They have an Indian restaurant in the back that makes delicious food.
You would not expect there to be a restaurant in the back of this Indian grocery store. The food was delicious, loved the Himalayan special (hot) tea. I had Chicken Korma, and my daughter had Shahi Murg with lamb, both dishes were excellent.
Normally the Chicken Tikka Masala here is very good. I have eaten it a dozen times getting either mild or medium spice level. Wonderful and tomato-y. But not tonight. I swear they gave me Butter Chicken and tried to pass it off as Chicken Tikka Masala. They wrote Chicken Tikka Masala on the container but the color was too light and it tasted like a butter sauce. Please Himalayan, don’t be doing this or I won’t be back. We both know while Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken have some similarities- they are not the same.
I tried chow mein and biryani. Chow mein was terrible in taste and too much oily. biryani looks like fried rice. I can make better at home. So I don’t recommend this place for those who has tried real chow mein and biryani.
Thank you.
