Bone marrow and wings to start. Wings were fantastic, just a bit small in size. The chicken curry and rice mixed well together and the sample platter of sauce was a nice touch. Ate during dark and could only see hippo eyes, so going back in the AM to try and catch a glimpse of them in the light.

Luceth greeted me with warmth and style after the security check at the door. A BEAUTIFUL hotel resort with double showers in my room and the sounds of river outside my door. I want to bring my friends here and show them true South African style. It beats staying in the park!!! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 300–350

Would’ve been a 4 if not for the breakfast. Which is slightly lacking in diversity. Great setting over the river and we were greeted on our last morning by a playful herd of elephant. Hippos were also sighted the night before. The menu is pricey and lacking in vegetarian options but the restaurant were happy to accommodate any requests. Almost there Hippo Hollow! 📈

This is just a beautiful place to eat. Staff was super friendly and the food was good. I had a nice freshly made pizza and my mom had fish. All fresh and presented so nicely. The seats were nice and we hand umbrellas to protect us from the rain that evening. It was nice to see the river and plan for Elephant whispers tour.

The restaurant at Hippo Hollow is one of the most beautifully situated venues, overlooking the Sabie river where hippos and elephants can be seen regularly, and where one can enjoy a well prepared meal served by friendly, well trained staff. It is always a highlight of our visit to the Kruger National Park, when we stay in Hazyview, close to Phabeni Gate. A special thank you to Asanele, who went out of her way to ensure our most recent visit was especially memorable.

Lovely place with great views. Food was delicious and presentation was great. The staff is just so friendly, warm and welcoming. They went the extra mile to make the visit special for us. I would highly recommend Hippo Hollow restaurant. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 250–300
