Enjoy Penn State University by default, the clients' piece of advice is to visit this cafe as well. Come to Irving's to taste good penne pasta, breakfast bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Most guests recommend trying tasty brownies, muffins and Scones. Take your chance to taste delicious cider. Come here and have great smoothies, espresso or tea. The intimate atmosphere of this place allows customers to relax after a hard working day. If you look through the guests' reviews, the staff is cute at this spot. Spectacular service is something clients appreciate here. Prices at this cafe deserve attention because they're attractive. Google users awarded Irving's 4.2.

A New York bagel shop just across the street from Old Main, Irvings is a great place for incredible breakfast/lunch fare while catching the Penn State vibe. Home of State College’s best and IMO only authentic bagels, they are crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with a selection from plain to Everything. Irvings has lots of cream cheeses and sandwich selections (the Breakfast Special served all-day long), awesome bread and pastries too. Then there’s the drinks, from milkshakes to smoothies, great fresh coffee and plenty of bottled drinks. The main-stay staff knows their stuff; student staff members come and go, and seem to enjoy themselves while working which makes for a better experience. It’s my go-to spot for family breakfasts, coffee with colleagues or clients, or a quick bite with friends. I love Irvings!

I had ordered an Asiago bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. I was very disappointed in the bagel itself, and I was expected asiago, at least to see the cheese either in the bagel or encrusted on it. It was ordered toasted but was not warm. I’ve been a pretty frequent customer at Irvings for years now, and I’ve decided that I will no longer be returning. The food is amazing if you’re lucky, but thats very rare these days. I usually order the BLT, and every other time it comes with barely toasted bread and chewy bacon (even when I ask for it extra crispy). I’ve gotten a good grilled chicken pesto once or twice, but usually it comes with disgusting rubbery chicken that is impossible to chew. Every time I order an iced latte hoping last time was a fluke, I get a watery iced coffee again. Irvings has a nice ambiance and nice workers, but I honestly don’t why I’ve been supporting them for as long as I have. Its overpriced for small portions and not worth the inconsistency risk. Irving’s has always been pretty consistent with their quality when it comes to their fresh bread and bagels, smoothies and overall product. All of their breakfast items taste amazing, but I really enjoy going for lunch and getting the pizza bagel. It’s super basic, but they make it taste great.

Great experience at Irving’s Bagels! I like the atmosphere a lot. Service was friendly and prompt. There are plenty of tables to sit and study a while, and they have additional seating downstairs too, though I believe that is temporarily closed. I had a vanilla iced coffee and an everything bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. I don’t really like their cream cheese much but it’s okay, I’ll try a pizza bagel next. Prices and vibes are good, and the location is super convenient. I’ll be back!

Got the bagel special and it was delicious! Quality was there; there was a long wait time/line but is expected on a weekend, other than that I recommend!

Long time local bagel cafe offering fresh bagels, bagel sandwiches, wraps, and smoothies. Bagels are fresh and tasty, the breakfast sandwiches nicely done. Wraps and smoothies are spot on too. There’s a rivalry with the bagel joint over on Calder. But locals seem to prefer Irving’s and it’s not just nostalgia.

They love to let you order just for the food window to tell you they are out of what you ordered. I ordered 6 bagels (not cooked or anything just to have for the week) and was told at the window they were out of what U had ordered. My choice was then to just choose a substitute or wait in the ginormous line for a refund. Many other people waiting for their food were experiencing the same. My family came to State College to visit friends, so we decided to take a day to buy PSU souvenirs for our family back home. Started our day here at Irving's with bagel sandwiches and coffee. Omg the tomato and bacon on my bagel was amazing. Loved the coffee, it was perfect for a morning stroll down College Ave shopping. The line goes by fast and if the tables in the main area are full, walk on downstairs for a cool, quiet sitting area. Lots of college students studying and gathering in this area, loved it!
