The food and service were outstanding! We loved our flavorful dishes and our server Dimitri was so kind and helpful. The pita chips were also delicious! My partner and I went to Ithaki for the first time together. The construction was a bit of eyesore, but once inside, we were greeted, and had reservations for 6:00 PM. We were offered the seating of our choice and we opted for the booth against the wall, a quiet and out of the way place. We were attended to right away, water brought and asked if we wanted drinks, which we declined. Our waiter a gentleman who has been with Ithaki for 25 years, was pleasant and checked back with us once we reviewed the menu. I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle (GF) Braised short rib, mushrooms, cippolini onion, parmesan. My partner ordered from the small plates and went with the Octopus* (GF) Fava, pickled onion, garlic aioli. Additionally we ordered the Beet salad and shared that. Bread was brought and that was good, with the crock of spread that came with it (not oil with garlic or Butter) and we were fine with that. The Beet salad was delicious and we both really enjoyed that commenting on the ingredients and arugula/goats cheese/good quantity of beets/fresh oranges and a nice dressing that complimented the salad. The pasta was brought with the braised beef and it was very tender (the beef) and the noodles, pappardelle cooked perfectly, (al dente) and was plentiful. The octopus however, was not to my partner's standard. Unfortunately it was grilled, but over grilled and the exterior was burnt and the octopus, which should have been tender, was rubbery and very chewy and truthfully she could not eat it. I tried a pieces to to corroborate her opinion and found, I could not even (sadly) chew the piece I took ( and I have excellent teeth! ;-) We did make our waiter/server aware of the situation and he said that's the way they make it, but in all honesty, it was, as we discussed on the way home like eating Burnt Rubber. We were not offered condolences, free desert, or anything to send us away figuring our honesty was helpful, we paid, tipped and left! As we got out of the car to check in to the hotel next door there were delicious aromas wafting around which instantly made us hungry! The welcome was friendly, the menu varied and the ambiance relaxed. Service was attentive and pleasant, the food was delicious and huge portions. Upscale, affordable experience for everyone! Awesome, wholesome food and super respectful wait staff. Great bar and good, boozy drinks. Spacious, yet cozy eating area with large booths and tables, along with ample rooms for private dinner parties. I ordered a tray of gorgeous and delicious spinach pies on short notice for my Grandson's school Greek Day, and the owner was so accommodating. They were ready the next day and fairly priced. They have a wonderful and varied menu and offer an exceptional, traditional American breakfast. Worth the drive for this relaxing and affordable experience. Normally I don't really talk about the meal I had or the meals that anyone else I was with had, maybe a comment or two. I have to say though the Blackened Salmon was impressive, I didn't like what ever topped it ( was a shredded vegetable ) but that was easily scraped off. It was an unbelievable dish, don't miss the lentils and the beet sauce. It doesn't sound impressive but it all was. the roasted chicken my girlfriend got was equally impressive. On another note it's quiet or rather quiet inside ( maybe that's just Monday night ), a refreshing change from a dinner with loud anything in the background. The food is always amazing here. I was so happy when I learned they were moving from Ipswich to Peabody. The service is excellent. The food, desserts, and drinks have always been great. Make sure you make a reservation.
