Onion rings here are some of the best I’ve had! Not the best burger experience I’ve had. Let me preface by saying I came with a large work group late on Tuesday afternoon. Service was great. Burger was somewhat of a disappointment. I ordered “The Works” without mayo, add mushrooms. Though the bun was tasty, it was a bit chewy. The burger was missing the ketchup and mustard listed on the menu item, and the mushrooms came out on the side. Feel like there are better burgers out there.

The Hot Hickory Burger that I had the other night at Jake’s was one of the best burgers I can ever remember, and there was so much else on the menu sounding just as good that I had a hard time deciding. The number and variety of beers on tap (maybe 20?) offers something for everyone, and I loved my Lakewood Temptress Stout! We splurged on a dessert since the burgers were so awesome — Granny Jakes Mellow Cake, a chocolate cake with fudge icing and marshmallow drizzle that is served warm. The waitress I had was amazing!! She was so funny and very patient with my slow family. I had the breakfast burger and it was REALLY good! It had a lot of food on it, ham, an egg, two patties and cheese! For $11 it was really good. Then my father got the Hot Hickory burger which he ate in like 2 minutes so I think he liked it. But we got these tater tots with cheese and bacon on them and they were really good too! Great service! The hamburger tasted great. It looked like the advertising. The first hamburger with very delicious pickles. Never liked them on burgers before, these were great Something special about Jake's double cheese. A real find under 10$. Wait staff busting his butt to please us. Over the top. Sweet potato fries are interesting. This is a place to not miss. You have to try it! Ask for ACE the fast-waiter! Great service, nice people. I didn't get a chance to show the full menu, but in the pictures is just a plain burger (with the seeds) & tots. The other picture is a jalapeño burger and fires. Have been eating at Jake's for decades. First time at this place. The good is the food tastes the same. The bad.. it was not busy at all on a Sunday evening about 8 pm. It took forever to 0lace out order. Then almost a hour before we got it. Spent over 1.5 hours trying to get a quick burger than I normally get in 10 minutes at every other location. As soon as you walk in the door at Jake’s you feel like a regular even though it may be your first time to be crossing the threshold (like it was for us). The place has that neighborhood bar feeling! We had the fried mushrooms (YUM!) and the Chicken Fried Bacon Burger (double YUM!!). Oh, with fries- Jake’s famous fries. Jake may be famous for them but they were actually pretty generic. Good, hot, fresh, & crispy- but generic all the same. Hubs and I were unsure about ‘chicken fried bacon’ but Y’all- so so very good. Their local beer selection was nice also. Above all, their service was excellent. Should we find ourselves in Grapevine again, Jake’s would be one of our musts to visit again! I love this place they have so many choices to choose from! The kids have a variety of choices. And it was so good!! My water never got super low they were always making sure you had good food and that your drink was full. I totally recommend this place for your family!! They have a bar that is pretty big also but I did not try any drinks but there was a good amount of people over there so I think it was good. Also it was really clean.
