A gem of place with reasonable prices, smiling and friendly hosts, and tasty food. We had lunch here; ordering a spicy fish curry with coconut rotis along with mango and pineapples juices. The food was delicious and generous portions. You could taste the individual spices in the curry - very well made. Everything is freshly prepared. The prices are much lower than the beachfront establishments, so you really get good value for money. Thank you to the friendly hosts for a lovely meal! The best restaurant we visited in Tangalle. Great owners, delicious food, very large portions and good prices. We also recommend cooking class, where you can prepare several types of curry together with the owner. It is worth seeing how this traditional Sri Lankan dish is made. We spent the best evening in Tangalle here, not only eating, but also having a nice conversation with fantastic people. Take the cookery course with Iranga and her husband - 1.5 hours of fun and food heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed learning the Sri Lankan techniques for spicy and tasty curries taught by a lovely friendly couple who were generous with their time and experience. Nestled in a lane near beach, this small family restaurant, run by a local couple, is a hidden culinary gem. The menu boasts a delightful fusion of very tasty and customizable Sri Lankan and western dishes. They prepare everything fresh, though a bit of patience is required. The hosts' warmth creates a welcoming atmosphere. The prices are also very affordable. While the open setting invites a few mosquitoes and flies, they use coils to ensure an overall enjoyable dining experience. Family owned restaurant, I did a cooking class there, which was actually a private class haha. We made pumpkin curry, eggplant salad, daahl, papadum and coconut sambal. The class in itself was approximately 1h. Food was amazing.

A very tasty meal in this small family run resturant. We both ordered the fish curry (400 rupees) which was delightful - albeit we ordered HOT for our tourest taste-buds and it was HOT! The curry was very well seasoned and you could taste all individual elements and spices within the dish which is incredible. Coconut rotti (300 rupees) was sweat and flavourful. Ordered the pinapple, mango and mixed fruit juice which where full of fruit and very good. (400 rupees) The hosts are very welcoming and speak english. They will also give you great advice where to visit for your stay in Tangalle. Thank you again for the lovely meal. Great food with welcome atmosphere. It is a small family restaurant but food quality is beyond that. Owner is very kind and friendly, his son chatted with us while he was making food and it was a lovely conversation. Delicious grilled fish with very affordable price. a small, cozy restaurant located by the main road along Tangalle beach. Excellent food with generous portions. The owner is friendly, helpful, and always smiling, willing to fulfill any request, such as going to buy beer in our case. An extraordinary experience is offered through a cooking class where they show you how to prepare dishes of your choice. I highly recommend it.
