Good, well stocked store. All fruit and veggies looked good. The only thing that looked bad was the salmon in the buy one get one free section when you first walk in. I guess you’re not getting wild caught at a BOGO price. One bathroom of two was “out of service” but at least they put a sign that said it’s been reported for repair. Employees were cordial.
Well maintained store. Has wide varieties of of organic foods with a reasonable price range. Good thing is store offers water refills which tastes better than all other brands.
Huntington kiosk and their ATM services are available inside this but their operating hours differ.
Pretty nice Jewel, friendly staff, fast self check out. It's interesting how every Jewel is SO different though. This one, the floral dept is so tiny and they don't carry the nice candles I love getting. Versus the other Jewels I have been to have a huge floral section and many candles. Anyways the wings are still consistent though! So that's a plus. Overall great store OH but this one does have a huge magazine section lol versus the other ones. Kinda funny. But cool.
Gobble gobble then jingle jingle me into pure madness. I don't care what the good cause is. It's absolute insanity to hear that over the intercom for two months straight. I can't fathom how the employees deal with hearing that for eight straight weeks. Mariano's doesn't do this so I'll drive the extra 10min until January.
This is one of two Jewel Oscos in the Des Plaines area. This one is modern, good selection at the bakery, deli and produce sections. Lines were pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we were able to use the express line.
I’ve been a frequent customer of this Jewel store for over 10 years, the sales prices and my deal coupons often don’t come off the total which I often just let go of as to not hold up the line behind me. Today I had a coupon for several dollars off that didn’t it come off at the register and they refused to adjust it despite the wording of the coupon clearly stating it could be used on the product. This is no way to treat a long time customer and I will definitely be grocery shopping somewhere else from
now on.
A decent neighborhood grocery chain. Good sales and mostly very good produce. Their regular prices are in line with a solid retail chain.
The staff seems pretty helpful, especially the service desk. The general stocking staff is not as helpful, but some are pretty good.
One of the managers is a big gruff, and though decent to customers, I've seen him reprimanding employees on two separate occasions, with customers nearby. Very unprofessional, and uncomfortable!
Recommended shopping times are to stay away from Saturdays! Both because the parking can be horrendous with the DMV next door, and because the lines can be very long with some customers being somewhat rude. Staff handles things well.
UPDATE: It has been a while since this review, and some things have changed, while much has stayed the same. First, I have not seen that snarky manager since shortly after my previous review - either he got promoted (???), moved on of his own accord, or... Also, team members are regularly helpful and friendly. Can't find something? Just ask and they will check, and sometimes even walk to the likely aisle with you! Prices are moderate, but there are some good deals, and their app always offers incentives to try new products or get a deal on your favorites.
