Seeing Paihia Harbour asks for time and efforts, so if you feel hungry after, come to this restaurant for a good meal. It's great to try New Zealand cuisine. We had tapas of raw fish and the infamous muscle fritters. Both were yummy however we had food envy when we saw a plate of prawns come out.!! Next time Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Best restaurant in town! The ambience in the restaurant really fits the coastal town vibe & the staff are absolutely lovely. All the dishes we had were amazing, the fish is freshly caught every day! Great food, great spot and great staff. Had the prawn cocktail, grilled prawns, oysters and the chips. The prawn cocktail was great and the grilled prawns were awesome, just a bit expensive. The oysters were great if you like them huge. They were too big for some of us but that could be a bonus for others. Only concern I had was the beer lines for the Estrella needed to be cleaned as I could tell it was that time. Switched to bottled beer and was great. I would have mentioned it discreetly but the staff on that particular day weren't familiar on the bar. This may have been resolved later in the day. The staff were super friendly and helpful regardless and the host the second time we went was really good at his job. Made everyone walking in feel welcome. Will definitely go back! My fiancé and I were really looking forward to going to this restaurant while we were in Paihia, and it did not disappoint! Amazing food and the nicest people, from the front of house team to the bartender to the owners of this lovely establishment. It was so good we went two nights in a row! Highly recommend the Seafood Platter for Two and to not skip dessert. Everything we tried was delicious and beautifully plated, but we especially enjoyed the salmon & dill terrine and garlic butterflied prawns (part of the Seafood Platter) and the apple cake with custard. On our second visit, we finished eating 30 min before our ride was supposed to come. Louise saw us waiting around and called Chester, who kindly drove us back to where we were staying! We are so grateful for your kindness and hospitality, and we can’t wait to return for a round three the next time we visit Paihia! Licensed venue with Fantastic seafood, trendy decor and licensed bar. Would recommend to other travelers. A upper class takeaway? The food was not bad. Garlic butterfly prawn looks better than it tastes and the seafood chowder was a bit bland. No table service and you go pick up your food when ready. The venue was nice though

Absolutely amazing fish and chips! A lovely light but crispy batter over the fish and AMAZING tartare sauce. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend you stopping by for a bite to eat. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

We both had JFC fish and chips special, one snapper and one blue grenadier (I think) and both were delicious, fresh and well cooked. We ate in and the fish and chips came wrapped in paper but we got cutlery (so no greasy fingers). The sauce choices were good and we enjoyed the curry sauce (just with the chips of course). We also tried the scallops which were very fresh and cooked well (and came on a plate). A good selection of beer and wine was available, many local. Delicious!! Fresh fish (choice) wrapped in paper and higher end for sure. Friendly staff and tasty beer. Highly recommend
