A wonderful spot for a quick meal! The food arrived promptly and while every dish was enjoyable, a bit more braised pork would have been appreciated as the meat was rather little. The convenience of an English menu makes ordering hassle-free! The staff were friendly. If you're looking for a quick and tasty meal at Jiufen, this diner is a solid choice! This eatery is a great choice to have a quick lunch at Jiufen 老街. The food was served very quickly upon ordering. Both 卤肉饭 was and the Xiao Long Bao were very delicious and flavourful. I ordered their duck, fish, braised pork rice and xiaolongbao. Only was disappointed with the rice, the umami was very less compared to the other dishes. Although I'm not a fan of duck meat, this one was nice. Their soup dumplings were decent too, nothing bad nothing great. What I liked the most was the fish haha. Pairs really well with their edamame. Beef bowl was small. Not a problem, however the rice was slightly soggy. Chicken was slightly on the less fresh side, generally average. Vegetables were alright. People go there for the alcohol and perhaps slightly cleaner environment. If you're going for authentic food, I wouldn't recommend. If you're just looking for a place to eat, it's not too bad. Really nice place to have a quick lunch or dinner, the view on the bay is breathtaking and the food was good. Not too expensive considering the fact that we are on a super touristic place. 5 star review for being the seemingly only F&B in the area that accepts cards. Plus very reasonable prices. No local ATM to withdrawal cash that accepts international cards. So happy to be able to pay for my beers whilst I wait in the rain for the next 3 hours whilst I wait for my taxi.
