You can always enjoy good burgers and tasty onion strings - a special offer of this restaurant. Based on the users' feedback on Google, Jojos shack deserved 4.4.
We got there about 40 minutes to closing but we were kindly welcomed. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, which he loved. I got a bacon cheese burger with onion rings, everything was fresh and delicious. My daughter got a personal pizza and really enjoyed it. They have a good sized menu and decent prices. We are definitely marking this as a favorite and if we end up driving back through here again we will be sure to eat here.

Just had the chicken fried steak dinner. It was cooked perfectly. The potatoes are real- not instant! Very tasty. Would definitely stop again. Plenty to eat.

I flew to El Dorado to fuel my plane. While at the airport, I drove the courtesy car into town for lunch. The number of available restaurants was extremely limited, and JoJo's was the only option.
As we parked in front near the highway, I noticed that the premises is shared with an alcoholic beverage retailer. Walking up to the restaurant's entrance door at 1:15 PM on a Wednesday, I saw an older woman (employee) standing just inside the beverage retailer door smoking a cigarette. As a non-smoker, my spider senses started to tingle.
Immediately upon entering JoJo's, the smell of cigarette smoke saturation was evident. Side note, after leaving Jojo's 30 minutes later, my clothes smelled so bad that I washed them as soon as I returned to my ranch. Either the restaurant and retailer share a ventilation system, or both areas share a common corridor. Either way, the cigarette odor was bad.
The owner of the restaurant, a middle-aged woman toting a holstered firearm pistol on her hip, told us to sit wherever we wanted. This wasn't a problem as only one other older couple was dining in the cafe. There were only 3-4 booths and a few tables in the small cafe. The waitress/owner was hospitable and brought our iced teas to us promptly. The friendliness of the waitress/owner was the only reason I elevated my rating to TWO STARS.
I ordered chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and corn. When the food arrived, I quickly ascertained that the CFS was WAY overcooked. Cutting into the charred meat and burnt crisp batter took some effort. I was only able to stomach half the portion before giving up. (SEE INCLUDED PHOTO)
The mashed potatoes were fair, but the corn was off-color, and the taste confirmed that this vegetable should not have been served. While I was very hungry after not having breakfast that morning, I left 60% on my plate as not fit for human consumption. I did take home the remainder in a provided styrofoam "to go" box, and I promptly distributed it to my outdoor cats when I returned to the ranch.
My girlfriend came back from the bathroom and told me it looked like a hazmat disaster area, so I didn't both entering to wash my hands. I took her at her word, and we departed as disappointed patrons.
Between the cigarette smoke odor and terrible food, my overall experience was poor. After lunch, we visited a couple of places in town. The word on the street is that JoJo's is the LAST place the locals choose to dine. I sure wish I had that information in advance.
I'm sorry to leave such a bad, yet accurate review. I had high hopes for JoJO's as a potential regular destination. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

This is definitely a shack. We were a group of 3. We had the hamburger steak, hamburger, and patty melt (day's special). The food tasted good - no complaints there. Just a few things I would have done differently - maybe less soggy fries, a little more sweeter tea?

Came here and the waitress is super friendly and always comes by to check on you. The food was amazing, I had a bacon cheese burger with curly fries and it’s one of the better burgers I’ve had in a long while! Definitely eat here again on the next trip out! Thank y’all for keeping “Southern Hospitality” alive! and great small town feel!
