Had lunch here for a group of 7. Amazing Italian/Aboriginal fusion cuisine in a comfortable setting. Many thanks to our host Karine and chef for the divine meal and great service. Would definitely come back here again.

Lovely dining experience!
Had the tuna and avocado tartare, it’s
so fresh and delicious.
Then, the trout fish is absolutely amazing!
No bones and the butter caper wine sauce perfectly pairs with the homemade Focaccia bread.
Tiramisu is also a must try. Light and creamy, but not too sweet.
Definitely coming back soon

Beautiful outdoor area with a chill vibe.
Western and Taiwan aboriginal food & authentic Italian pizzas with a good selection of wines and cocktails.
Perfect for a date or friends gathering
Everything in this place was GREAT, starting from the service, they are very polite and welcoming😍the music is suiting to the place.
The meat was perfectly cooked and the tiramisu had the perfect balance; not too heavy, not too sweet.
If you come to Yilan, it’s a place to have a delicious dinner😍

This place is amazing. This is the 2nd visit in 2 weeks and and if I could give more than 5 stars I would.
The appetizers are balanced and well done from the cold cut and cheese platter to the Bruschetta.
The steak (which I have ordered twice now) is perfectly executed and the best I've had in Taiwan for the price. The pork marsala has an exquisite sauce that makes the mouth water before you even pick up your fork.
The drinks are well priced and delicious as well, I would promote their mojito with their fresh mint.
Cannot recommend this place enough.

When a restaurant that is in the middle of nowhere located in a sleepy small town is packed full with diners and tons of 5 stars review, you know you are in for a treat. The western menu with local twist promises intriguing delight to the tastebuds especially the Kanea’s shrimp sauce spaghetti, packed full of shrimpy goodness yet not overpowering with burst of lemon zest and unique combination of rosemary, the perfectly cooked shrimps paired with the slightly tart cherry tomatoes. The cherry valley Yilan duck breast in Cointreau sauce with the perfectly rendered duck breast, crispy skin yet juicy meat, citrusy flavorful sauce and the super buttery mashed potatoes was quite a delight.
Italian and Taiwan Aboriginal fusion menu. The owners were so kind. The entrées and wine superb. The flying fish risotto with aboriginal local peppers melts in your mouth. The homemade gnocchi was award winning in its texture and taste. The in-house limoncello bursts with perfection in your mouth. Worth the stop for sure!

This place exceeded all our expectations! Definitely the best pizza in Toucheng & Yilan, for sure the best in Taiwan and most probably the best pizza we have ever had!! Just wow. They have a lot of good vegetarian options The outside area is so beautifully done with just the right amount of lighting to create the perfect atmosphere. Wish I had an extra stomach!

Well, how to begin....
First of all I'm a fan of small little hidden gems and I love to bump into culinary experiences I just wasn't expecting.
This is exactly what Kanea is all about. Is it an Italian restaurant? Probably.
Is it a fusion-kitchen? Definitely.
Is it any good? Hell yeah!
Cosy hidden place with some peppermint and Rosmarin right at the front door, woody hip interior that might remind you a little bit of a fancy wework office restaurant that met a local carpenter, oh and such a welcoming staff.
You know you are at the right place when the daily specials are immediately getting pitched to you. I mean this is how you run a place like this... excite your guests with fresh and limited menu items before giving them a chance to try out the regular ones.
Anyways... I was hungry so I kicked it off with a garden salad... fresh, good mix, perfect size and the sweet spot between veggie, fruity and cheesy.
Immediately followed by the star of the evening... the Pork Gnocchi. These felt like someone shot a proper poem of delicious lyrics straight outta Tuscany all over your taste buds. Perfect texture, very balanced and definitely the right amount that makes you wanna beg for more. Wow!
These Gnocchi were so good that I had a hard time to look forward to get my steak... seriously I could have eaten just 2 more courses of this amazing dish.
Anyhow... the steak arrived, was perfectly medium rare but unfortunately slightly on the cold side. Probably rested a little bit too long on the hot plate but it was still a straight forward great steak.
And finally... The Tiramisu. Beautiful, light, fluffy, perfectly balanced, great portion but still not enough because it was so good 😊
So I gave Kanea 5 stars because it's not only a great little restaurant with a fantastic staff and amazing food, it's exactly what was missing in the Yilan area when you want to have a relaxed and calm evening while enjoying a delicious meal.
Go there, try it, thank me later because you'll be able to experience all of this at very affordable prices.
