The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because of the automatic gratuity added no matter the size of your party. I’m a generous tipper,
I just don’t like to be bullied into giving a tip, because then it’s a fee and no longer optional but I digress.

The owner and staff are all very friendly. It’s a small quaint restaurant. I see a few people gave low ratings because of the wait times, which is ridiculous considering everything EVERYTHING is made to order not thawed out or precooked in bulk. The wait times are longer at the little fast food restaurant with the cow as their logo. I recommend making reservations and/or ordering your food ahead of time. I haven’t had anything that wasn’t delicious. (Although I’ve only been twice we always taste what each other have).

My friends and I have been wanting to try this place for a while. The food was good and they are generous with the portions. The sweat tea will bring you back to the south. We got to the restaurant 15 min after they opened and when we ordered, our food took almost an hour. I suggest maybe arriving an hour after they open. The music was good but the place is very small.

I must say this place is worth the hype when it comes to food. This place is small so you must bring your patience with you. There was some waiting. However, I've waited longer at other establishments for food half as good as this place. We order the crab fries and sould rolls as appetizers. The soul rolls were really good, and the crab didn't have a ton of crab, but the flavor was great. For entrees, we had the fried snapper and turkey wings. The snapper was good but didn't have that much jerk spice to it, and the turkey wings were falling off the bone, tender, juicy, and great. This place has the best mac and cheese I've ever had, and I've had a lot of mac and cheese in my life. The collard reens and sweet potatoes were also really good. I have no complaints and will be returning soon. I would suggest making reservations through their website or you will be waiting for a good while.

Mac N Cheese
It's a small space, a top 3-4 small but kinda steep steps. Especially coming down. Nice art work adorns the walls along with that ivy-grass stuff a lot of places have been using. Be careful it catches your hair.
The fried chicken was delicious and crispy! The sauces that came with the chicken and French toast(it reheated well the next day) were absolute YUM! My sister even asked for more sauce once she tasted it and they sent her about a tablespoon worth of "extra" sauce, for the whole table! The kitchen needs more staff because they get overwhelmed pretty quickly, to the point they burnt premade French toast! Also at my table, someone ordered cheese grits🤦♀️... It looked like there was cheese in it, but couldn't taste it at all! They put dried parsley everywhere😒. The shrimp and grits... The grits again unseasoned, the what tasted like Creole sauce was missing something and had too much spice and salt! The shrimp were cooked beautifully though. The pork chop was fried really well, and was great! Cooked just a little too long for me but other than that I would order that again. You could smell that they needed to change the fryer oil very soon.
The candied yams-they were really good but needed a different sugar to break up the monotony of the strong flavor of the brown sugar, ALMOST too much cinnamon. Should be cut a little thinner.
The greens- excellent flavor! Too much salt for us.
The Mac and cheese- this is one of the best Mac and cheese's I've had at a restaurant, flavor wise. I would have liked more cheese. This Mac has great savory notes that I think it would be a great base for a seafood Mac and cheese.
Honestly total experience was a 3.8. My server was really nice, helpful and friendly. Most of the seating is small high-top tables, with about maybe 3 low-tops. Food takes some time to come out, that's because it's MTO. Pineapple lemonade was yummy. I don't remember seeing anything about alcoholic beverages. We would eat the food again, but that drive😬.

Mac N Cheese
My daughter chose a charming place for Sunday brunch after church. The food was amazingly delicious and the service great. It’s smaller than I imagined, but gave that “down home” vibe you get as if you were in your Grandma’s kitchen! I highly recommend the catfish and grits! I’m already considering catering options for my next event!

The service was excellent! The venue is small, but they made up for it with the portions. I would go again. Also, its plenty of parking behind the building. Be prepared to pay an extra fee (ours was $10.35) for service & fees..whatever that means. We took it as the tip 🤷🏾♀️

The food was horrible. I order the fried fish; specifying the fish is to be fried extra crispy. After waiting nearly 30mins the food came, didn't check the food inside due to having to get back to work. Once in the vehicle when checking the food, seeing the fish was under cook falling part, the crust was soggy (never seen fish leaking juice until now) red beans covering yellow rice (Customer should be aware that white rice isn't being used with the red beans). The beans and fish was very salty. The cabbage was the best tasting part yet the sausages in the cabbage were different colors some were very dark in color. I'm pissed! If your going to charge $30 for a 2 piece fish plate with 2 side, let it be hands down the best tasting fish in town. Had to bring the fish home and re-cook it in the oven to try in get it crisp. I'm posting because the number listed was not working.

Cozy welcoming dining room. I went mid day. They have very limited hours. My food we very good . I absolutely loved loved the fried cabbage. I also has seafood egg roll. I enjoyed them but the texture may be problematic for some because the seafood mixture was a little loose. They were beautiful crispy on the outside and flavorful. I also had beans and rice. I will go back with friends next time
