According to my tour guide, it was a must. Truly appreciate good food, and I'm so glad I waited until 5 pm to enjoy my Papa Loca with alpastor and pineapple 🍍 Wow, the service was great and the food was so delicious. I ordered tacos and papa loca. A must-try when in the area! Late night and reasonably priced food venue. I go for their unique take on "stuffed" potatoes as well as pastor tacos. Good salsas. Often quite busy. Seating can be challenging. I find the chairs classic Zanka style and uncomfortable (but that is me)... but not so uncomfortable as to prevent a sit-down meal. Great local spot to eat. Excellent authentic Mexican tacos and the best potatoes you will ever have. Service is quick food is always hot and consistently a great place to eat. Staff is very good and work very hard to give you a great meal with great service. Can't say enough about this place!!! I'm not super familiar with all Mexican cuisine so keep that in mind when reading, I'll edit if corrected and/or once I've learned more... So this place does foil wrapped baked potatoes filled with pretty much any variety of meats and cheese!! Super delicious!!! One order can be relatively filling though additional shared for orders make it fun to try different options! Two very different people recommended the place and it did not disappoint! Be prepared to wait if it's busy, there's not really a line up as such you just walk up to the guy who you'll know is in charge and let him know the size of your party, stay close and he'll let you know when they're ready to seat you. The atmosphere is very casual but the place runs like a well oiled machine, from the various cooking stations, to the food prep, servers, etc - everyone knows their part and does it well!! Don't be offended if they start getting your table ready for the next party right as you stand up to leave, it's just part of the process and experience. I wish I had photos to share but I'm sure there are plenty posted already! Absolutely recommend for a change of scene, or if you want something other than tacos, though they make those here too lol!! I’m not usually gushing over the food but this was legit the best food I’ve had here in Zihua. Mary was our server funny enough, and was top notch! Even though it was busy with a line she was attentive to all our needs Our Costras Al pastor was seriously mind blowing! We wanted 10 more! The crazy potato was rich with cream and all the meat we topped it with. Oh those tacos were so tasty as well. The red onion side and salsa was the perfect accompaniments to our meal. I seriously wish I had tried this place at the beginning of my trip instead of the end so I could of eaten here more. Instead I’ll dream of the next time……I’m crazy for La Papa Loca!!! It’s hard to define or describe this wonderful little place. If you come to Zihua and you like taco joints, you have to come here at least once. The food is always excellent, it’s quite hot (no air conditioning), but you just gotta do it. I have had stuffed potatoes at other Mexican taco joints, but this place is easily the best. Great little restaurant. About 10 different stuffed potato options, tacos and other things. The potatoes are in an aluminum foil boat, no skin, and topped with just about anything you can imagine. I had steak, pork chop, ham, onion, mushrooms, cheese and jalapeño. You essentially get half of a potato so if it is our main meal for the evening, I’d get two. Or if you are going there with a group, tell them it’s for sharing and they will cut it in half for you. Great spot filled with locals so you know it’s good. Would gladly go back!

Delicious crazy potatoes indeed! You can basically choose any topping you'd like to go inside the baked potato. They also offer pastor tacos, horchata, jamaica, and a flavored water, cervezas, & sodas. Service is sometimes slow, but spoke enough English that we all received our orders correctly.
