We were exploring the area and found this little restaurant decided to try them. My partner had a carnitas sandwich which she did not like. I had the barbacoa beef sandwich which tasted good to me. I didn't like the pink horchata drink maybe if it had cinnamon and a bit more milky. The rose flavor was just too artificial.

Las Ahogadas, regrettably, was an uneven first-time experience. On arriving, our group of four was pleased to find what initially looked to be the only empty table that would fully accommodate us. We were only made aware by chance, not the staff, and as a result of one of our group members making a visit to the facilities, that the establishment provided additional accommodating seating space via the eatery's backend. The establishment's smaller physical stature is enjoyable, and adds to its charm, but they should be mindful to communicate the inconspicuous table space to fresh patrons. The torta ahogada, in other words, the flagship food item, was lacking all-around, the sauce especially, which barely had any real spice or kick to it. On the other hand, and to be perfectly fair, not all was lost: the complimentary salsas were flavorful and most definitely had great bang💥 to them; the agua de mango and Jericalla desert, delightful, and our waitress was obliging.

Great tortas ahogadas in a beautiful little space. Nice music, extremely friendly staff (who speak Spanish and English). Check out the back courtyard. Wonderful taste of Jalisco in PDC!
