First time here, but whenever your driving on Pontchartrain you can smell the good aroma. We were quickly greeted and seated to our table. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The food was delicious and so fresh. The Quesadilla Texana can definitely feed two people! The cups are large which is really nice, you don’t have to ask for refills like usual. I also loved that they include queso with the salsa! Best food! Fabulous staff! Great prices! Highly recommend ❤ UPDATE: We finally ate inside. (Typically always order to-go and just pick up), but today we sat and dined, and it was great! They offer free bean soup for dine in only, and it is delicious. Their chips and dips are so tasty. My fajitas were literally sizzling 🔥 when brought out. Plus my husband thinks the taco trio can't be beat! The decorations and tables, even the chairs all have so much detail. The music is authentic sound but not overwhelming. Go get you some! The food is always great. I really like the music and atmosphere. This is our go-to restaurant when we want Mexican food. The staff is prompt and pleasant . We visited for lunch for my nephew's birthday. It was our 1st time visiting but we were impressed. The cantaritos are very delicious! The food was also exceptional. It was well prepared, hot, and served properly. We had the vaca loca, lunch special, and chimichangas. The restaurant had a light crowd when we arrived; however, after a few moments it began to fill with a lunch crowd. I would recommend arriving early for lunch. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Everything I’ve ever ordered was amazing!! I will keep ordering. Great food. I’ve always ordered delivery so I don’t know about atmosphere or service in person. Great portions. Ordered the Mexican beef steak. The meat was chopped much smaller than I expected. The dish was a large portion but lacking in flavor. I added their salsa to it and it was much better. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

I ordered the enchilada plate, also ordered the queso which was plain. Enchiladas were served with a plain red sauce, no meat or cheese on top, and the corn tortillas were tough and cold. Beans and rice were served on the side, beans were ok but the rice had no seasoning and tasted like plain rice with tomato sauce. Sweet tea was dark and very strong and not too sweet either. Was very disappointed as this was our first time there. I specifically ordered a simple dish that would be harder to get wrong but it was terrible anyway. This is a relatively New Mexican restaurant in Slidell but it never disappoints. I must have eaten/ takeout 4 times now and every time, you look forward to going back. So I did a takeout today and ordered everything from fajitas chicken nachos ($12.99) to chalupas vegetarian gemelas ($7.50 but won’t recommend it) to chicken quesadillas dinner ($10.50) to classic fajita chicken for 2 ($24.99) to burrito bandera ($13.99) for a grand total of $77 bucks. I mean, 4 out of 5 good dishes is 80% success rate and I’ll take it anytime. El Paso, is still more reasonable price wise and quantity wise but Los Contaritis makes up for quality albeit slightly More expensive. Customer service is always top notch so Pls do give it a try.

Cantaritos is one of our favorites! The staff are always super sweet and the food and drinks are truly to die for. It's my favorite Mexican spot in the area, by far. Love the chimichanga plate-- I learned to like guacamole because of it! Wow. They've been open for under two weeks and they seem to have it together. The staff is friendly and pay attention. The food was flavorful and delicious. My food was cooked perfectly. First time in a long time that we both are leaving satisfied AND impressed. We will be back.
