We visited this place twice, both times food was great, good value for money, prices are very reasonable. Their pastry is amazing, especially the cinnamon roll, just make sure to get a hot one. We ate the toast with pesto and olives tapenade. It was super tasty. The only downside was the time we had to wait to get anything, this is a very popular place, it was always full with people waiting outside. More waiters and especially ones that speak English can solve this issue. I was quite sorry for the only waitress that knew English and practically had to serve all the English speaking tables because nobody else could communicate with them. Been here twice, both times were happy with our meals. Coffee was good and great cinnamon roll. On our second visit we also tried breakfast dishes - salmon toast and pueblo eggs, both were really nice. The ambiance is good, kind staff. If I lived in Bacalar probably would be a regular. :) Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stayed in Bacalar for a week and this was hands down the best meal I had for “non Mexican food”. I had the open face toast with hummus and veggies and it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were incredible and huge portions. They gave me another slice of bread to make it a sandwich and provided extra hummus at my request. The bread was super fresh and delicious. The friendliest and fastest service! My girlfriend was ordering croissants and other baked goods from them daily. She also ordered the bagel / egg sandwich and she loved it. 10/10. We walked by this place and decided to try it out. We weren’t disappointed. I had the Tapenade & Pesto Toast and loved it. Hands down the best non-Mexican food I’ve had thus far on our trip. Full of flavor. However, the portion was on the small side for me. I had to order a croissant otherwise I would have left hungry. It's worth a visit. The store is usually full and you have to accept a bit of a wait. However, the service is very nice and tries to serve you as quickly as possible. The food is really delicious and the price is very fair compared to other restaurants!

The meals were pretty good. I did have higher standards for the pastries though… perhaps they just weren’t that fresh. We ordered a chocolatin and it just seemed kinda stale. Go here! We came back twice on our weekend getaway. The first time, we were on our way to a boat & in a hurry. The food comes out in a blink of an eye! I got the BLT & it was so good. Second time I came, I got the Sandi & it was also delicious! The servers are busy but friendly & very attentive. Something accidentally spilled and he gave us a pastry as a thank you. I think I had the best breakfast of my life here this morning. The picture is of my wife’s dish (equally as tasty). I had the chilaquiles with pork and it was incredible. The sauce was served on the side, I assume so you don’t get soggy tortilla, which I thought was a nice touch. The salsas they bring out with all their meals are fantastic, especially the chimichurri - couldn’t get enough of it. Considering going back tomorrow for the same dish. We also took home some of their freshly baked bread & a croissant, which would be very good served in Paris honestly. Very impressed, and so glad to have found this little place.
