We are so Disappointed in Marías, the last time I went they served some shrimp that was too spicy to eat, two bites of rice and one shrimp that I could eat, I told them, and they told me that's how they serve them, they took it away and still charged for it. And today my husband was craving a burrito and in Marshall there is no other place to eat on a Sunday night, we went to Marias, again the disappointment appears. A wonderful addition to Marshall. My hubby and I have both enjoyed everything we have tried. The servings are generous, the service is fast and the free chips and salsa when you walk in the door are great too. My current fav are the shrimp enchiladas with red sauce. So amazing what the owner has done with this space. The food is fantastic, the art is so vibrant and warm, and the service was great. If you've tried their food truck, you've only gotten a small taste of the amazing flavors available at their restaurant locations...so glad we stopped in. Even the kids were happy! My wife and I were just going to settle for Subway last nite, but we decided to go to Maria's instead. I usually get something with chorizo, but I decided to try something different. I ordered the Fajitas Costenos, and I am SO happy I did. The seafood was cooked to perfection! The squid, octopus, crab, and mussels were tender and flavorful. And there was so much on the plate. Excellent food. Excellent service!! Best restaurant in Marshall and some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Authentic, fresh, fast, hot, and alway always always delicious. Never had a bad time here and my husband, toddler, and I go just about every weekend. Prices are reasonable too. Seriously I can’t say one bad thing about this place. Dined in 3 times, and had takeout 2 times. The food is always great, service is good. Prices on food are very very reasonable. Would highly recommend this small town restaurant. Took my mom here for Mothers Day shortly after they opened. Service was amazing! The food was perhaps even better than the service. I made a mistake when ordering and chose the Devils Shrimp or Camarones a la Diabla (bottom plate in photo). Thought I could handle the heat of the dish as I have had it from other places, boy was I wrong. That one is for the most seasoned of spicy eaters. That said, it had three jalapeño symbols next to it and it falls on me not them. It was still delicious and the server made sure to keep bringing me water. The tortilla chips and salsas provided when seated are great too! They were even nice enough to provide my mom a free piece of cake for Mothers Day and that’s the type of thing that will make me a loyal customer forever. Went back a second time since and tried another Shrimp plate that wasn’t spicy and I really enjoyed that too. It’s cool to have a new place in town and they did some really nice things with the space of the old Pizza place that shut down and we really like the paintings. I have a strong feeling Maria’s is here to stay and possibly expand if possible! Place seems to always be busy and the food honestly speaks for itself. I’m not a fan of Margaritas but both times I’ve been there it seems almost every table has them. Next time I go I’m having Maria’s Fajitas and I’d wager heavy that they’ll be the best thing I’ve had there so far. Both my mom and GF enjoyed what they ordered as well. As of now Maria’s is the best sit-down dining food option in Marshall, by far. If you can’t tell by now I highly recommend it and assure you that you will too.

We met up with the another party here last night. The other half arrived early and was seated with drinks, chips and salsa by the time we arrived. We sat down and placed our drink order and had the chips refilled. Then proceeded to review the menu. By the time we ordered the chips were half gone so when our order was being taken I asked for more so I could enjoy some chips. To my suprise they were now wanting to charge for chips, but I could get my salsa refilled for free. This was a first for me. I was taken back. Apparently the limit is 1 basket per party. They were small baskets mind you. Next issue was the food. Beans had been cooking all day and tasted like way too much chicken stock (super salty) Other parties chicken in their burrito was like jerky obviously cooked to long The limes for my tacos campechanos could not be used seeing as how they were too small for me to squeeze 🙃 Rice for everyone was hard, crunchy, and flavorless. Just an overall bad experience which is hard to get when it come to normal Mexican cooking, hospitality, and atmosphere. I will not return and I suggest just buying from their food truck if you can find it. Their campechanos look and taste more authentic.
