I came here twice during my time in LP. Loved it! Lovely spot to watch the sunset on the river! I ate the tempeh curry (delicious) one time, had the snack platter the other (also delicious). And their non-alcoholic drinks are great (a selection of mocktails, and kombucha and ginger beer they've brewed themselves. I had a quick look on their website too, and they seem very ethical (supporting local communities) and a focus on sustainability. And the straws are not plastic! 🙌
They have a sunset river cruise that looks to be very nice and one of the more competitive prices for cruises in the area. But sadly the boat engine was broken when I was there. Otherwise I would have done it 100%!

Great Mekong sunset cruise with the best price compared to other cruises.
Unfortunately, the cruise starts at 17:00 and sunset is at 17:30 (November).
Better would be, if the cruise starts 1h before sunset depending on the season.
We bought the ticket one day in advance.
The drinks from the bar at the harbour are great.
On the boat, I think they serve only beer and soft drinks. A choice of some cocktails on the boat would be perfect.

We booked a sunsetcruise with low expectations. It is approximately a 2-hour cruise starting from around 17h30. We had no reservation en were there around 17h00 and asked if we could have dinner on the boat. That was no problem. The food was great, the boat trip even better. A Must do if you are in LPB, highly recommended place.

The Amazing Sunset Cruise on the Mekong River
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go on a sunset cruise on the Mekong River? We were a little skeptical at first because we had heard some not-so-great stories about cruise operators in Luang Prabang. But let me tell you, the Svan Cruise completely blew us away!
A Pleasant Surprise
When we arrived at the Svan restaurant (we did not eat at this time), we were greeted by friendly staff who helped us purchase our tickets. While we waited, we enjoyed the lovely views of the Mekong River. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that there would only be one other person joining us on the cruise!
A Relaxing and Romantic Voyage
As we set off downstream, we felt relaxed and excited for the voyage ahead. The boat had a cozy atmosphere, and we even had the option to buy drinks onboard. After about an hour, the other person on the boat was dropped off at a farm for a night stay, leaving just the two of us for the return journey.
Delightful Scenery and Sunset
The cruise was absolutely delightful! We were surrounded by breathtaking scenery as we sailed along the Mekong River. And when the sun started to set, it was like something out of a fairytale.
A Memorable Experience
All in all, we are so glad that we decided to go on this sunset cruise. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The Svan Cruise provided us with a memorable experience that we will cherish forever. If you ever find yourself in Luang Prabang, don't miss out on this incredible cruise!

Such a great sunset cruise! Really nice staff and a very romantic boat. The cruise was about two hours, we sailed very slowly down the Mekong and had a sunset view without any other cruise boats disturbing the view. We highly recommend using this boat - superb service, price and sailing 😀
Been here twice for beer and coffee. Very relaxing spot, friendly staff, and a great view of the river! Very central in town and reasonably priced!

Really nice place with a beautiful terrace overlooking the Mekong. Great food with vegetables from their own organic farm, I had the tempeh curry, it was delicious!
They also have a boat, the sunset cruise was so relaxed. The boat is much smaller than others we saw and so it felt really special to be on the water this way. Definitely recommended!
