Merken is a Chilean restaurant in la Paz, Baja California, Mexico. Excellent service and delicious food, prepared with love and dedication, the menu is amazing, and the Ceviche Andino and the Mushrooms with Ginger were so Tasty and also the Pisco Sour was on point. Had a dynamite lunch at Merkén in Chametla today. The food and service were off the charts! We tried two apps, one entree, and a dessert. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. All the dishes were beautifully plated as well. Overall, a flawless experience. Highly recommended! It is located just west of the Chevron station and Segunda America. Great food. Ensalada betebel to start, brisket and picana specials for meal. Simple, yet beautiful place. A little expensive but definately a nice treat for a special occasion. We stopped here on our way to the airport because we hadn’t eaten and were running late. we got food to go and wow!! I cannot wait to come back to La Paz and eat here again. You can tell the food is made with love and care. The fire roasted veggies were the best I’ve ever had! We got the brisket and the ceviche. Just incredible! Atmosphere is nice as well. Great hosts, who were very attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed and in the more urban location, it created a little quaint oasis that felt completely apart from the city. Food is cooked over a fire and everything was amazing. There were 10 of us ordering different things and everyone raved. I had the perfectly cooked grilled shrimp and (also very tasty) puréed sweet potato. They threw in grilled vegetables in olive oil even though it wasn’t on the menu. Then we finished off with Key lime pie and chocolate flan. To top it off they offered pisco sours and we finished a bottle of nice, easy Sauvignon blanc.
