Attended friends' bachelor and bachelorette party. It was a fun night spent with close family and friends, meeting more people and enjoying the Brandy mixes, the hot and spicy pizza, and the fizz pop shots 😋. Another stop for when back in Montagu. If you're looking for a great pub experience then Mitchell's is the place. Family owned and run by the Mitchells themselves you will get a warm friendly reception. Martin Mitchell served us like we were his only customers and is a "salt of the earth" kind of guy who seems to know everyone in the place by their first name. Food was amazing I had an extra crispy lamb shank the first night we visited and washed it down with ICE cold beer which was a welcome respite from the 40°C heat outside. A few nights later we returned to be greeted by name and offered the same drinks we favored the previous time. This time we tried their Pizza and Wow.... Their Babalaas pizza is up there as my all time best ever Pizza! Thank you Martin! We will certainly visit Mitchell's Pub & Grill every single time we are in the beautiful town of Montagu. Took an hour for the food to be ready but we weren’t surprised because it’s a pub and we didn’t expect much. The pasta tasted like garlic, just garlic. The pizza wasn’t that great. The salad and burger were good. Nice service and vibe in general.

Our waiter Lionel was tops. The Mitchell's breakfast was absolutely delicious 😋 and cooked to perfection. We dined on the deck overlooking the main road and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. We love Mitchells for the cheap and cheerful vibe. We will often sneak a working lunch and carafe of wine in the week, especially when the Chicken Cordon bleu is on special. Kids love the chicken strips and chips. If not for food, pop in for a drink and meet the many local regulars! Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Ambience was exactly what we expected from a pub. Nice and cosy with a fireplace. Food was ok, but not great. Fresh roasted vegetables with my meal instead of frozen veg would have been much better.
