Absolutely wonderful customer service and beautiful people here. Fish n chips was delicious and generous portions with both buts and chips. It was absolutely flat out when we went over the long weekend and the wait time was really reasonable. Would certainly return! Oooohhhh yeahhhhh chips and curry sauce!!! Absolutely love it... The kids loved their burgers and curly fries. I loved my snapper, which was nice and chunky. We came here for a school Geo field trip and i ordered the Bacon Burger a solid 8.4/10, and the spring roll was a 7.1/10 and the hotdog was a light 7.9/10 the color of the sausage was slightly off and clearly had red 40 in in the sausage. Also got a Litre of orange and apple juice which was very cold and refreshing. Very customer service and the orders came very quick. Food is always great. I’ve brought all my family here when they come down to see me. They have some great value packs, delicious burgers and a nice selection dessert options such as the mini frozen cheesecakes. Came here yesterday for lunch from Palmy with my great-uncle. We each had a different fish and a half-scoop and had it by the boating club. Service was excellent and she was very patient with my uncle who struggled to read the board, and she made sure each parcel was labelled for us. The food was absolutely beautiful, chips full of flavor, fish was fresh and each of us had it perfectly cooked. Uncle loved it. Went to Lewis Farms after for some fruit and a strawberry ice cream and got him some groceries at Foxton New World. He said he loved every aspect of the day and was the most enjoyable day he’s had out for a long time. Cheers Grumpy’s! Saw the reviews and thought we would try it out, I was shocked to see they did salads, wish every fish and chip shop would offer that too. I got the chicken and bacon salad with ranch and it was really decent size and so yum!! Not often do you get an awesome batch of cooked under-done chips in the Manawatu. Reminds me of my childhood when all takeaways used to cook like this. Couldn’t recommend Grumpys more! Steak wraps are also divine just forgot to take a photo of it like I did the fish and chips.
