Panamanian Creole food served in a clean air conditioned environment. Large variety of food and enough tables for a large crowd. If you are a tourist, this is an ideal spot for you to try. In here you will find the country's classic dishes. They have the cafeteria style options as well as menu offerings. The prices are excellent if you choose the cafeteria options already laid out in front of you. The cheapest option is the soup with rice at just two dollars and sixty cents. Then the next option is three dollars and forty-five cents. And the third option with rice, meat, salad and a drink is at a very reasonable four dollars and fifty cents.
The food tasted fine. Any tourist will be happy eating here. The cafeteria options include classics such as rice with beans, Chiriqui style rice, meats, typical fried options such as tortillas and hojaldre (fried dough), as well as salads and a bunch of other things. These types of cafeterias are the preferred way to satisfy your curiosity for local food. And along with the reasonable prices, they will become your preferred option to satisfy your growing cravings for it.

Cafetería style dining. Wide variety of typical and none typical food. Healthy options. Very good prices with local senior discount.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner served. Take out offered.
Plenty of seating and air conditioned.
Near center park with a number of reasonably priced hotels and shopping.
The only remark is the mash potato was cold.

We eat at their location in Chiriquí Mall often because it's good food. Here is totally different.
Fried chicken was dried out, flavorless, and very little meat on the bone (so paid for bone). Rice was dried out. The bolitos were tasty. Tried twice here but we won't be back to the downtown location.
Another good surprise. "Delicioso como en casa" lives up to its name. Nothing fancy here just good, home made tasting food in a casual atmosphere and upbeat jazz music. We did not have a single bad meal in Panama in our 2+ weeks here but this place was the closest tasting to the food we eat at home. We paid $18.00 for 2 meals and 2 drinks and the portions were very generous.
To be fair, we did go at the end of the day and this was clearly a lunch place. The food was lukewarm and bland, it was cheap but still not worth the price. Unimpressed.
