Visited the spacious Restaurant last Friday evening and it was not packed. The soft shell crab served with meat floss was very tasty and aromatic. The crispy baby squids in sweet and sour sauce tasted umami. Yummy succulent scallops topped with sufficient aromatic minced garlic yet not overwhelmed by the garlic taste and smell. Nothing beat the fresh live oysters from the aquarium. The nam yue fried chicken wings were equally delicious. Though fresh, the Lobster meat texture and sauce taste not up to my expectation. A good dinning experience here. Will visit again if happen to be in Desaru.

Friendly staffs and prompt service. Order taken with accuracy and meals served within 10 mins as the restaurant wasn't that busy yet.
The yang chow fried rice is a must try, nicely fried down to every grain. Flavourful and tasty.. Accompanying it were :
1. Bean sprouted fried with salted fish : despite being fried with salted fish, it was not overly seasoned till the extend that the dish becomes salty. Very well balanced level of savouriness. Bean sprouted are fried and the salted fish is in chonky bite size.
2. Sambal squid : The sambal is nice and fragrant, not forgetting spicy. Not too oily and the squid is fresh. Texture is just right for those with teeth. 😂😂
3. Corn soup with crab meat. Succulent and tasty soup that is more of a chowder. It feels like as if I was consuming sharks fin soup but it's not. Very generous with the amount of crab stick meat..
4. Ordered the prawns which comes in three serving sizes S (8 pcs), M (12 pcs), and L (16 pcs). There are also multiple ways to choose from, for how you want your prawns to be cooked. Chose the salted egg choice and it was so creamy and thick.
One thing though, as it is an open concept restaurant, do expect some flies..

My friend and I visited the restaurant on a December weekday. As this restaurant is in close proximity to 2 hotels (min), it's packed with tourists. The place is not fully seated, but as they are under staff (at least on the service side), it is kinda chaotic. I had witnessed some unhappiness and was given the "hand stop sign" by 1 of the angry patron when i wanted to speak with the staff over the counter. He was like, "Hey, I'm angry, let me talk first," and i have heard him said angrily to the staff. "You want me to eat flies?" Apparently, it is either there are not enough flies squatter thingy to go around or they are all out of batteries. The poor counter staff had to go to another table to borrow the fly squatter for him. When it's our turn to eat, we had to ask for 1, and the batteries died before we could finish our food.
The good thing is we get to order rather quickly, and they are able to accommodate our change of food.
Lastly, when billing time, the counter staff missed out on 1 of our bills... (food ordered same time but on separate bills) which is half of the total bill. Well, I'm honest enough to inform him that the bill is wrong... LOL
Overall, the food rating is good though. We ordered steam lobster with garlic, salted egg crab, fried chicken wings & vege (lotus) as they ran out of other veges and also take away an XO fried rice.

Very satisfied with the food and value for money! There was 9 pax of us we had so much food and we spent less than rm1000. Comparing to the amount of food we ordered, it was very worthy.
The food was very tasty, seafood was fresher compared to the other places we went. Hong Kong steamed grouper, steam crabs, lala clams and etc were all amazing! Even the children enjoyed it.

The food is delicious and their rating don’t justified! I was kinda sceptical as rating is 3.9 when decided to give them a chance since it’s nearest to where we stay (hard rock) they even cool w me following them to see the weight of lobster n crab. The Australia lobster is superb.

The sea view is wonderful full stop end of review.
But as a responsible reviewer, I thought I should warn my fellow humans about this restaurant.
You will be eaten alive by the larger-than-normal and very persistent flies. They are not shy, they are hungry and they will get your food. Coming here felt like you are bringing your children to a third world country that’s under developed.
All patrons are see waving their hands and flapping their fingers in vain trying to keep the flies at bay.
We were seated right in front of the epi centre of the flies - the aquarium. A shallow container with exposed seafood attracted the flies to swarm around it.
We asked the waiters repeatedly, HELP!!! But they couldn’t do anything about it. They provided candles and a fly fan to deter the flies but they are not solving the root of the problem!
We’ve eaten by the sea in the open in other parts of Malaysia, Bali, Thailand - it was pleasant!
Let’s now dive into the food.
The live seafood in the aquarium is all but an illusion. Whatever we ordered tasted funky and gamey.
Prawn Paste Chicken
- Gamey chicken taste with yellowish skin and an unsettling blend of prawn paste and batter.
Soft shell crab
- some portion of the crab meat tasted watery and bad! The portion was so small it could have been eaten in one bite.
Prawns
- the shells of the prawns were stucked and fixed into the meat. It wasn’t deep fried and trying to eat it in full may cut your throat.
Squid with salted egg
- Toughest squid we have eaten. On top of that, it’s chewy and rubbery.
Black Pepper Crab
- this comes across as crab and sauce at best. Where is the pepper!! There is no spicy kick in this and it was a let down. The 2 crabs were in diet and the meat is limp, soft and mushy.
We’ve had better.
Pls put your heart into the food and do something about the flies.

The view outside the restaurant is the only thing thats outstanding.
Food here is expensive and portion for the chicken is unacceptable. RM28 for a chicken chop that has 3/4 parts of skin, 1/4 of chicken. Service was also very slow, table cloth covering table is full of holes and very dirty.
Will not come ever again.

Big portion for two pax 😂 maybe we ordered too much. Nice experience having dinner at the beach. Food is okay with good service from the waiter. Menu ordered : fried rice with xo sauce, fried chicken with mongolian sauce, hot & sour szechuan soup, fu yong omelette, tie guan yin tea. Oyster already finished although it’s only 8pm plus 🤣

Food is nice and location is nearer to hotel area, no need to travel 30min to sg. Rengit for seafood. And with sea view and winds. But price is slightly higher. A lot of flies made the dinning experience bad , shall improve on that.
