Nick’s steakhouse is an excellent addition to the York, ME restaurant scene. I highly recommend sitting at the well-appointed bar & ordering from all available food menus. (Those mini beef wellingtons were delightful…along with some solid cocktails) My highest compliments to both the owner & the chef for executing their vision in such an inspiring way, especially for the area…I truly hope this restaurant ups-the-ante for all surrounding establishments. Local steakhouse across the street from Best Western on Rt 1. I'm always looking for a place I can walk to. Nick's was right on point for what I was craving! I had mini beef wellingtons, French onion soup and truffle fries. They have an extensive wine list and while I didn't have any, it looked like a nice Scotch offering. They have a dessert menu that changes daily but I opted for a decaf espresso martini. Classy and down to Earth all at the same time. Wonderful staff! Indoor and outdoor eating so I had my dinner at the bar(sorry, no pics) and my dessert on the deck by the fire. Perfect! 4 star on food only because I felt the French onion soup could have had a bit more flavor. Anytime I'm in the area, I'll be back. Nick's is great. We live in the area and grab an early dinner from time to time before all the *other* New England license plates show up. The food is great, my favorites are the ribeye and the scallops. I've not sat at the bar yet, we usually sit inside or on the front porch. The bar has an abbreviated and cheaper menu if you're just looking for a quick bite. Holly and Nick (owners) are extremely accommodating. One time my bone-in ribeye came a little blue in the middle and I asked for it to be heated up. They were overly apologetic and made it right really quick. Very good and quick service. Its busy in summer and a bit slower in winter. On the busiest summer days parking overflows into the road. It's a side road so, not directly on RT1. 1.5 miles from York Harbor Beach (Stageneck). Its across the street from the Maine lobster outlet. Give it a try! Its nice to have a classy sit down joint in York that isnt seafood driven. Recently we had a chance to try Nick's Steakhouse for dinner with friends - it was simply outstanding. Starting with the ambience - this old home was converted to a warm gather space with deep blue walls, white trim and brown leather booths. The bar, while on the smaller side - is an amazing space as well - it was all very welcoming. The food and wine were delicious and the and service was outstanding. Living in Boca Raton I’m used to the NYC steakhouses opening in south Florida and so I always frequent Abe & Louie’s, Smith & Wollensky, and Gallaghers. This wedge salad is better than all of them. This baked potato (with a warm sauce they pour over it) is better than all of them. The fact they offer a 5oz cut is perfect; I’m not forced to order a $100 cut like it’s my anniversary dinner. This place leaves my husband (who criticizes everything) speechless; he said he “wouldn’t change a thing.” Even the old fashions (muddled sugar start) has an ice cube emblazoned with the word “Nicks” reminding you they thought through every detail. It is one of the best restaurants in the area. We went for my husband’s birthday with my adult children. We are all foodies. Service was wonderful and the owners stopped by to chat which added a nice touch. If you like shrimp cocktail ? Their cocktail sauce is next level. The rib eye was perfection! A very comfortable place for a relaxing evening. This is not a place for a rushed meal. You will delight over the menu with the variety of steaks and a wonderful wine listing. If the specials include Australian steak, splurge and be well pleased. Handicap parking is conveniently located next to the ramp access. Plan to spend money and get your dollar's worth. My boyfriend made surprise reservations here for Valentine’s Day. Calm chowder was one of the best we’ve ever tasted. Started with complementary pretzel bites with cheese dip sause. Very yummy. Also split the bacon appetizer and NY sirloin. No room for dessert, but the slices of cakes with enormous. Phenomenal atmosphere and service. Highly recommended for an upscale higher end dinner. My father and I dined at Nick’s Steakhouse this past Saturday and it was amazing! We got multiple appetizers, entrees, and sides and they were all delicious. The drinks and dessert were great as well. Tobi was our waitress and she was very welcoming and friendly. Nick, the owner, came around to every table to greet the guests, check in with how their experience was, and made genuine conversation with almost every table. Nice find on the way home from a Christmas concert. Romantic dinner or upscale family dinner. Generous servings that taste so good. Fantastic wine list. Just don’t ask for coffee with your dessert.
