We just moved to the DeForest area, and this location was recommended to us. We enjoy smoked meat and all of the associated sides, so we decided to check out out. We were warmly greeted, as if we were regulars, and quickly seated. Our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Our food was served quickly. Our server's recommendations were right on the mark. We really enjoyed everything. The cheesy potatoes and the cornbread were our favorite sides. I tried one of the platters to sample so that I could sample several mains. The ribs and pulled pork were favorites. The brisket was good, but not really notable, as was the chicken. The gumbo soup was also great. The meat was served "dry" and there were several bbq sauce choices to help take the food in the direction you enjoy. We've already returned and will continue. The prices aren't really a bargain, but they seem to do a solid business, so they're apparently appropriate for the local market. Definitely recommend. Good food and great service! The BBQ is very good here! We had the armadillo eggs (bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers). The tuna tacos were delicious! I had one of the BBQ bowls with the Mac and cheese and cheesy hash browns as my base. The brisket was amazing!
