Food is marvelous. Service is quick and friendly. Only problem is when you sit outside, you're constantly bothered by parking cars and people getting in and out of their vehicles. Last time I was here, they also didn't have any music playing softly in the background. That would be a definite atmosphere enhancer! But you will still enjoy it here. Look, this is not luxurious food. However, you’re here for a safari - not for the food. Ocean Basket is a wonderful choice and good fish options, and we had a great family night. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Before our safari trip we decided to grab something from Ocean Basket. We were served raw prawns, our drinks were hot and we were not even served the Portuguese bread like we normally do when we are in Johannesburg, we were not asked if we want half rice and half chips instead we were told that they gonna serve us a salad that had lots of green peppers and onions. No lemon was included, we had little to no sauce on the food.We tried to raise our issues with our waitress Nomfundo but she blamed it all on load shedding. My question is why don’t you guy’s close shop if you gonna offer us such poor service. I think the staff needs proper training Food: 1 Service: 1

Good evening! My wife and I, visited this establishment for dinner today but must say we received the worst service ever!! Errors from our drinks till waiting for a take away bag until we paid was a really unpleasant experience. Mr. Evans the manager even had to assist in the chef department to aid the situation. But even that could not remedy the problem because we had a total of 5 waiters in less then an hour, even a cook served us at one point. I have never been more unwelcome at an establishment. There was no joy here. At on point we through its best leave. I paid a tip against my better judgment because I know the waiters need to earn a salary to survive. But this was our worst ocean basket experience ever. I know there was alot more unhappy customers on this night... I suggest the franchise sends someone to this branch for immediate intervention. If I could give a 0/5, I would have! On arrival at the restaurant, we were not greated by the staff at all, and our menus were placed on our table without even acknowledging us. We waited for about 10min before our drinks order were taken. When the waitress finally arrived, we order our drinks, 2 starters and 3 mains. All very simple orders. The waitress did actually wrote everything down, so we still don't understand how they could have gotten it so terribly wrong! Our starters arrived, with one out of the two being wrong. After a lot of explaining, we finally managed to order the right starter. The staff doesn't know their own menu at all! Next a sea of mains arrived, and placed in front of us. Everything was wrong. The calamari three ways was done just one way, the grilled hake and chips turned into a very badly cooked Fried Kingklip and chips, and we still don't know what happened to the normal calamari and salad main. Then arrived our starter that was wrong, on a cold plate, with no sauce. They came to take our wrong mains away to bring us the mains that we have ordered, we are still waiting for it. We paid for our drinks and the one correct starter that we had, and left, with them running after us asking us to stay and they will pay for everything. Unfortunately for them Spur around the corner had much beter food and service! Ocean Basket Hazyview won't see us anytime soon! Had a very bad experience with OB Hazyview. First the waitress got the order wrong and then when she served me with the pan that my fish was in she didn't let me know that the pan was hot, i tried to move the pan by its handle and burnt very badly......will never return, management handled it very badly 😢 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Mr Evans the manager absolutely wow!!!!!!!! This restaurant I'm sure is open because of a one man show. Thank you for absolutely amazing service boss!!!! Recommend to anyone and everyone. For a person who knows the taste of their food....I would like to advise the managers to go train your staff in the kitchen. The food tasted like it's from a day before, the waiters are fine and the environment is good.
