pictured: my excitement for my first Pancheros experience. Not pictured: my disappointment upon consuming my burrito. Everyone was very friendly, warm, and welcoming. The issue was not the staff friendliness (indeed, the staff is the only reason this isn’t 1 star!) The food left much to be desired. After months and months and months of driving past Pancheros and dreaming of the delicious burritos they brag about, I was very let down. The tortilla was the best part but everything else was a let down. The rice was undercooked and a bit “hard” (?), the “steak” was grissly pieces of cartilage, and the burrito was assembled in such a way that by the time I was a few bites in, I had already eaten all the good stuff and I was left with the aforementioned sad rice. Of course, I don’t expect fine cuisine from fast casual but I do expect a solid burrito that would make the chain across the street (hint, it rhymes with “UDoba”) nervous. All in all, I am disappointed. But maybe I caught them on a bad day or was there at a bad time. In the end, though, thankfully, there’s more to life than burritos! I recently had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The highlight, of course, was the food. The burritos were nothing short of spectacular, with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. I went to pancheros because I was tired of getting small burritos from qdoba and chipotle so I figured I’d try this place out. Everything about this place is better, the food, portion size, and price. I got a steak burrito and it’s the best I’ve had in years. Great place for made to order burritos and tacos. I think what makes them special is that they cook the tortillas when you order them: they take a ball of dough, press it, and throw it in the grill. It makes the tortillas amazingly soft and tasty. The fillings are standard for many burritos places but their tofu was top notch. What keeps this review from being 5 stars is a lack of consistency. When we went on a Thursday for lunch , the staff was amazingly helpful and attentive. They were also very precise and careful about the preparation, and answered all our questions about gluten and vegan options. On a Saturday however, we were rushed and the food was just thrown together haphazardly. So the Saturday visit knocked them down a notch in my eyes. Beyond IMPRESSED! From the moment we walked in I was blown away. The smell was intoxicating oh so delicious! Fresh pressed tortilla with everyday fresh ingredients. You can taste the difference. Most Mexican food is Cold, old, and tasteless without hot sauce, in my experience. Pancheros was so delicious I was compelled to let the cooks know, as well that I did just that! I was informed that they do not freeze or get their ingredients out of bags and boxes. Their sauces and everything are made fresh every morning. And you can tell in every bite how much effort they put into their Ingredients! Will return as quick as WE CAN. And OH HOW REASONABLY PRICED! Also, thank you to the wonderful staff.
