Really nice bakery! One of the oldest bakeries in Vila Real, they serve the typical sweets of the town and everything I tasted was very good! The only thing not so good was that the bakery was full when we arrived and the staff was busy causing delay on service.
Loved the place for the variety of pastries and their taste of course. The croissant is so good! And it's different from traditional portuguese brioche. You can get many sweets here, but also an artesanal freshly baked bread. I've also tried one of their cakes as well and, to be honest, was expecting it be a bit pricy because of its taste complexity and how delicious it was, but surprisingly I didn't pay that much, around 2.50€ per piece. The best part is the interior decorated in an antique way without appearing old. It has two cafes and both of these is worth visiting in order to appreciate the place from the inside as well. The staff serves quite fast, but the place tends to get quite crowdy. The only thing that bothered me in the smaller cafe was paying: you can't pay on the table, so got to go to the main line and it turns so confusing there that you can easily wait up to 10min to get attended. Paying process definitely needs some improvement.

I wasn't expecting to find such a place here... this place could be a Viennese café with its sober elegance, marble and wood elements... Famous for its bakery, it has a great atmosphere and character. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is one of the best traditional pastry shops in Vila Real. Everything is great, and the covilhetes (savory pastry with meat inside) are a necessary tasting experience.
Old, traditional coffee place in the town center with delicious pastel and covilhete de carne. Hot outside and I was feeling sorry for waiters and waitresses that have to be dressed with long sleeve shirts and half black clothes

Great pâtisserie, best rissois I ever ate. Nice traditional family business, you can feel the friendly atmosphere with a very retro vibe, without being too trendy. Still the original packaging for food from the 1940s,the food is freshly made every day. Loved by the locals.
Classic You cant go to Vila Real and miss Gomes. It is the place where to have your coffee with one of the many local pastries (my favourite: jesuita). Highly recommended

When in Vila Real you have to try the covilhetes, a typical local meat pie. They are delicious. The service is excellent and it's always packed with locals.
