Wow what an awesome dining experience. From the moment we walked in they were so friendly and knew it was our anniversary. Our server Jon also knew it was our anniversary and really helped to make it a special night. We highly recommend Pellana and absolutely ask for Jon. He’s been there over 10 years and it showed. He was the best. From recommending wine to going over the specials he was really good. The food was awesome. My wife and I both agreed this was probably the best meal we ever had. My husband and I went here for date night on my Birthday Celebration while we were vacationing in Salem for Halloween. The food was wonderful. Atmosphere was wonderful but busy. The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 was the service was slow and I ran out of my drink quickly with no refills for the entire dining experience until right before we left. Took the lovely Mrs. out for our 12 year anniversary ❤. The atmosphere was phenomenal, food was the best I have had on the north shore! Jason was our server and he is absolutely a genius. This guy was not overbearing he was the perfect gentleman and knows his way around the wine menu 😉. Will be returning for our anniversary every year and asking for Jason my newel bff! I’ve been to a few ‘top rated’ restaurants on the North Shore and they’re rarely worth the hype. This is the first one I’ve genuinely been impressed with, more akin to a Boston city restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed dinner here for our 10 year wedding anniversary. So happy to learn of this fine dining option on the North Shore. Classic steakhouse options, delicious cocktails and a wonderful atmosphere. Teddy, our server, was wonderful. We can’t wait to return on another occasion. We had a wonderful evening from the moment we were greeted by the host, to the moment they said “Goodnight”and thanked us for coming! Our server, James, was top-notch! Several special touches went very appreciated! Dinners of sirloins and tenderloins were perfectly cooked, seasoned, and delicious! Our sides of creamed spinach, Parmesan fries, and macaroni, and cheese, did not disappoint! Our cocktails were wonderful, including our pineapple Cosmos! The ambience was very nice and felt like we were in a fine Boston restaurant. Our seating request was well accommodated. Although expensive, we felt it was reasonable for a beautiful evening. We used to have dinner at Pellana (before they expanded) once a week and we were very happy with food + service but we moved to Australia for a couple of years and after we returned, we thought we should celebrate our anniversary at Pellana and check it out. I had the lamb and it was very well prepared. My husband had the scallops and he was very happy with the meal. Unfortunately the service was not as warm & friendly as before. We visited again about 6 months later and unfortunately the lamb was very poorly prepared and not much improvement in the service either. The third time we visited was not that great at all. We intend to give Pellana one more try and this time we are bringing a couple of guests with us. We should probably go somewhere else that is more consistent and we can count on better service but I don’t want to give up on Pellana without giving them one more chance.
