Ok so the place is small, 7-8 single tables. But the food is authentic & good home cooking. We had 2 bowls of pho, large size & good broth. Plenty of meats, not the most tender but good enough. Friendly service. Definitely would return for more. They have specials, not on menu. This place is incredible! So delicious, highly recommend. The pho was delicious. So fresh and flavorful. I’m picky about pho and this checked all of the boxes. Appetizers and sauces perfect too. This pho 79 restaurant is a hole on the wall resto. The inside was simple and clean. This restaurant are run by husband and wife duo and he greeted you upon entered in. Their pho is one the best in Charleston! The broth was so savory and the right flavor even before adding anything else. The portion was generous and the rare steak and the slices meat balls were good too. The chili oil that serve with the pho was so good and I used it generously in my pho. We also ordered the shrimp spring rolls and it was fried to perfection. I will definitely coming back! So so good! This is, by far, the best Pho restaurant I have ever encountered! I tend to be very picky with my Pho but Pho 79 has truly exceeded my expectations. Their crispy rolls and Pho Nam are full of wonderful flavors that will make your mouth water and have you coming back for more! Additionally, besides their amazing food they have exceptional service. The owner gets 5 stars for his hospitality, attentiveness, and attention to detail. This restaurant will most definitely make you feel at home and I cannot recommend it enough! I have been seeing a lot of good things about pho 79, and tried it tonight and we loved it! My husband hates pho and decided to give it a try and he really enjoyed it! The broth is very delicious, I have tried 5 other local pho places and this is by far the best one I have had. Also get the egg rolls, those were the best part! Wanted some proper pho to help with my cold and was pleasantly surprised to see this location pop up on my map. I always check reviews and this one lived up to it's rating. Loved that I could order ahead of time online! Its a small restaurant with some dine in seating. Prompt and polite service. I got the combo pho, spicy beef soup, fried shrimp roll, and a coffee. Man I would go back for the coffee alone! The shrimp rolls were really good. I'm still a little new to pho takeout so I accidentally mixed the spicy beef broth with the pho mix ins. Wasn't until I had seconds that I saw the vermicelli noodles and realized the mix up. They do number everything but I was to hungry to notice. They were both good either way and kinda prefer it that way!! Will definitely be back to try other dishes! First off food quality is great. Service was exceptional and the staff was friendly. Taste is on point and never miss. I have yet to try other things but so far all the things I've had are really good. Vietnamese Coffee was good quality and will give a jolt(do not under estimate it). Sweet tea is actually sweet like SOUTHERN SWEET, they didn't skimp out on the sugar. Every Pho place I try, I usually get the combination pho which offers a good bit amount of toppings. This place is pretty generous with the portion. Soup was hot and flavourful, you could really taste the spices. The pork spring rolls were good dipping sauce was a good accompaniment with it but I do suggest adding hoisin or Sriracha to kick it added kick to the flavor. Now the Pork chop, omg heaven, paired with the Nuoc Cham( the sauce it came with) just goes to a different level. TLDR: Food is good. Service is great. I’ve tried lots of pho places that open and closed down over time here in Charleston and so far this one is by far one of the best places for Pho and I make my own savory pho but this one at a restaurant level is one of the best here. Their Pho Dac Biet is really good and highly recommended and the prices aren’t that bad! Definitely recommend checking this place out Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
