This mom and pop restaurant has the owner on-site working along side his staff, not managing from far off place. They are all friendly staff. But $10-11.00 for Breakfast seems high for what you get. The potatoes aren't homemade, biscuits aren't that fluffy, gravy lacks flavor. It needs some Love in that breakfast food. Lunch and dinners are usually really good. Cheeseburgers are really yummy. I just googled and found this cafe. I had breakfast burrito. it was good portion for the breakfast! come with salsa if you want. my hubby had I don't recall the name. but he liked it as well. coffee was only $1.49(I think) most breakfast place charges coffee about $2.50-$3 or higher. cafe was clean. you can see the cook. that I like. service was pleasant! if you pay cash you get little discount! only downside was there was tall floor fan was filthy. and may be restroom can be improved. over all our visit was good. As a local, I’m shocked I’d never visited this restaurant before! We immediately felt at home upon entering. The atmosphere is cozy and styled nicely, without being over the top. Feels like a home style diner should. Prices and portions were great, and the cuisine itself was even better! Exactly the experience I hoped for, from the environment to the food. You have to come here for home cooking! Living my entire life on the MS Gulf Coast and not being here at Port City Cafe until now ... I've missed out Big Time. Not anymore ... We'll be back! The atmosphere is relaxed, the service was on point and friendly, the Pot Roast had great taste and moist both on the Rebel Poboy and the Blue Plate and the tea was perfect! Gonna try breakfast bc pot roast is available then too! We love this place! Reminds me of my mama's cooking, which I could never copy. Great diner style food, with daily specials that include your beverage and dessert for around $12. The roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy and Lima beans were very good. My husband’s shrimp Po Boy with gumbo was good as well!

Needed a place for breakfast and read the reviews. From there, we decided to give it a try. Very glad we did! Amanda, our server, was fantastic, and the home-cooked breakfast was delicious!!!! My husband ordered the Sunday special- shrimp & grits & catfish. The portion size was great, and my biscuits with sausage gravy hit the spot. The first time my husband and I went was for lunch. Our second time was for breakfast. Each time has been a friendly, pleasant, and enjoyable experience. The food portion is never disappointing. The prices are reasonable and worth every bit. This is definitely southern cooking for the soul.
